Introduction: The complexity of health problems such as childhood cancer poses challenges in health care and in the evaluation of interventions. This situation is aggravated when policy makers and decision makers assume that a health system works in a delimited environment with defined rules. Addressing the problem of cancer in children in Colombia required the enactment of a law to contribute to the reduction of mortality from this cause. This study characterized its complex nature, evidenced the potential implications in its evaluation and proposes an evaluation scheme. Methods: Documentary research with related information available between the years 2010 and 2020. Engagement has received a growing study within the Social Sciences until becoming the mainstream of public communication. The digital environments make possible to study their manifestation through symbolic behavior, publicly recorded, in the form of "Like", Share or Comment messages. However, it has been pointed out that its definition is in a state of refinement, so a synthesis was made based on a multidisciplinary state of issue, as well as a quantification of its evolution in the last 30 years, finding an increase of 1300 % in its academic use. Despite the great potential for interaction generated by the engagement, this process remains constrained to a traditional use in which social network administrators prefer to keep the information under control.

The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the adoption of virtual and hybrid teaching methods, leading to substantial changes in educational approaches. This study focused on evaluating the effect of mediating technologies on post-pandemic educational processes, emphasizing their essential role in enhancing interaction and cooperation between teachers and students. Although their relevance is evident, challenges persist in terms of access, quality, and evaluation of technological educational initiatives. To address these challenges, a comprehensive literature review was conducted, examining 26 international academic studies published in the last five years. Improvisation techniques can also be used in teaching technical concepts such as cybersecurity, agile development, database design, programming concepts, and most importantly how to better one’s communication skills. In an age where rapid changes have become the norm, improvisation techniques can be used to help navigate the new challenges of the next generation careers, global interaction, and technologies. These techniques can easily be incorporated in other methodologies such as creative problem-solving and design thinking. There are clearly defined and flexible rules for improvising, which make it easier for technical persons to learn and use in their daily life and career.
