It is usual to think that between the historical processes of Peru and Mexico there are more similarities than differences. And, indeed, there are reasons to suppose that this is true: both were the cradle of the most developed cultures in the American continent until before the arrival of the Spaniards; later, the two became the most powerful viceroyalties of the Crown; they also followed a similar pattern in their dependent relationship with the international economy; In both territories there is a rich and diverse cultural heritage that, according to some discourses, will merge into a thriving miscegenation. And we could continue with the enumeration.

Mexico is a country with a broad linguistic and cultural diversity. Certainly this is due to their number of languages, their sociocultural groups, and their dialectal variation. All of these characteristics show certain degree of language shift. However, every language needs to begin taking different actions (at the political, institutional, methodological level) for reversing language shift. This article aims to show the development of the project Revitalization of Endangered Languages Projects in Southern Mexico, 2014. This project was proposed by the Office’s Language Policies Assistant Director, National Institute of Indigenous Languages (Mexico). Specifically, the scope in this article is to describe the background of this project and how the six local or communal sub-projects linked to it have started revitalizing endangered languages with high degree or a very high degree of va...

The objective of this work is to show the working indicators in a group of activities called knowledge-intensive services that includes administration, health, education, finance, arts, computing, etc. Due to their specialization, they are provided by trained personnel and are a source of high added value. Despite their importance, studies that reveal the conditions of these knowledge workers are lacking. An exploratory, descriptive and comparative study is carried out between Argentina and Mexico, since they have an important service sector. It was found that the workers of this group of specialized services have a greater presence in Argentina, as well as better conditions in terms of salary, working hours and gender equality.

The objective of this research is to analyze the incidence of the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the perception of quality in the service by customers of grocery stores in the west of the city of Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. Faced with a highly competitive and changing market, one of the main threats faced by grocery stores is the limited vision that the owners have regarding the innovation and implementation of ICTs within the business, taking into account the direct competition they have with convenience stores, which offer the same products, but differ in additional services (24-hour service, deposits, recharges, payment facilities through bank terminals, payment for services such as water, electricity, internet, among others). With a quantitative and cross-sectional approach through the use of a sample of 282 people, the perception of customers was measured ...

In recent years the world was affected by the COVID 19 pandemic, which forced to change the way in which the economy operated during the contingency, and with it the dynamics of work. The present research has the objective of determining the effects of the fear of COVID 19 on the return to work in the educational sector of Tamaulipa. A sample of 200 workers from the educational sector in the municipalities of Altamira, El Mante, Madero, Reynosa, Tampico, Valle Hermoso and Victoria was collected. The results showed that there is a negative relationship between fear of COVID 19 and return to work. It is concluded that fear was the main factor that generated aversion to returning to work in the educational sector of Tamaulipas, accompanied by the physical consequences of the disease and major problems such as psychological disorders. This negatively affected the return to work spaces.

This text reviews some of the characteristics and the means that have shaped gender identity, as part of the traditional and popular Mexican national identity. It is a matter of reflecting briefly and generally on the subject, with special emphasis, first of all, on the idea that it is a sociocultural construction, and therefore with possibilities for change. And secondly,  on how the invented and mythologized image of the national soul is intimately intertwined and linked with the stereotypes and social roles assigned to each sex. This last matter being very peculiar to the Mexican context presented here.

This paper begins by describing the situation and problems that afflicted the Mexican prison system during the 1960s. According to the author, the critical state of Mexican prisons led to the establishment of a new system for the treatment of inmates. Thus, a penitentiary system was implemented that focused mainly on the resocialization of the inmate, as well as the promotion of his or her social reintegration. Furthermore, the benefits not only covered the inmates, but also the prison staff, who had access to the teaching and research institute of the penitentiary center.
