The industrial sector demands higher education’s institutions to offer relevant study programs that can be applied and that can match the needs of this sector. One concrete action of the Universidad Technologica del Norte de Aguascalientes is the program School-Company, which was implemented in Accounting. It highlights the necessity of linking the academic contents to job activities. As a result of this linking, a skilled student is capable of applying the theoretical contents in the job area. Objective: To estimate the funding and unit cost in the long-term training of health professionals in Peru. Methods: A partial economic evaluation (cost analysis) was carried out from the perspective of the public financier. For financing, reports are shown by budget categories and budget programs of the health sector. Data was obtained through the Integrated System of Financial Administration of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (SIAF-MEF) between the years 2016 - 2018. The study focused on the results obtained through the Labor Skills Certification service provided by the Impulsa Peru Program of the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) during the years 2011 - 2016, according to the regulations established by the General Directorate of Vocational Training and Labor Training (DGFPCL), as well as the guidelines of Budget Program 0116 “Improvement of Employability and Labor Insertion - PROEMPLEO”. These results were measured based on two key indicators such as the level of work experience and the level of salary, which are linked to the employability of a person. Introduction. The lack of research in Health Administration and Management (AyGS) training, along with the need to improve residency programs, motivated this study. Objective. We described the availability of offered positions and curriculum plans for AyGS residency programs in Peru. Methods. Descriptive observational study. We reviewed the number of positions offered and awarded between 2013 and 2022 on the National Medical Residency Council (CONAREME) website. Additionally, we analyzed curriculum plans updated to 2022, identifying minimum achievements per academic year and comparing them with CONAREME standards. Results. Between 2013 and 2022, nine universities offered the AyGS residency program, with six located in Lima. The aim was to relate study habits and academic performance in new entrants to the Faculty of Historical and Social Sciences of the National University of San Agustín de Arequipa.
