The Carboniferous (Mississippian) Pataz Batholith, dated between 329 - 347 Ma (Haeberlin et al., 2004) is about 160 km long (N30°W), 2.5 to 5 km wide currently recognized.  The intrusive is constituted by more than one plutonic facies: one facies of granite - granodiorite and another facies of tonalite-diorite, being the first one the most favorable for the emplacement and development of orogenic veins with gold content. The study area is located between parallels 8°10'S to 8°17'S, nearby the towns of Llacuabamba and Tayabamba in the province of Pataz, Peru, studies carried out on the intrusives outcropping in the vicinity of the town of Tayabamba would have shown a petrological and geochemical affinity to the Pataz Batholith, the affinity of all samples towards volcanic arc granites, as a SiO2 vs Sm/Yb ratio affinity presumes a possible coetaneity of the crystalline pulses (Mant...

The research paper analyzes the stability of the global slope, in six types of hydrothermal alteration present in the open pit Jésica, identifies the isotropic rock mass, that is, it does not have preferential orientation of discontinuities and anisotropic taking into account the parallel or sub-parallel discontinuities to the slope. For the slope stability analysis of the isotropic and anisotropic rock mass, the Generalized Hoek-Brown and Generalized Anisotropic failure criteria were used respectively, both in Slide 6.0 software. Two sets of discontinuities sub-parallel to the slope were considered in the anisotropic stability analysis F1 (dip from 72° to 82°) y F2 (dip from 45° to 55°). The safety factors obtained considering the anisotropic rock mass are up to 29% lower than those obtained in the isotropic rock mass; as well as the higher quality of the rock mass, the greater the...

Morphologically in Peru eleven zones are observed, with a peculiar metallic mineralization in each one of them. Geotectonically there was a hercinic orogenesis in the coastal chain in the Eastern Cordillera with an Eohercinic tectonism in the Upper Devonian, neohercinic tectonism in the Middle Permian; Andean orogenesis in the Western, Central and Sub-Andean Cordillera from the Upper Cretaceous to the Upper Tertiary. The metallic deposits have a distribution in stripes parallel to the Andes Mountains known as metallogenetic provinces; from West to East there is: iron, copper, within it gold in a certain sector, silver and polymetallic, polymetallic, gold and polymetallic, gold panning, with a peculiar geology in each of them. These metallogenetic provinces have been mineralized at different times known as metallogenetic times, they were made with the Paleozoic, Upper Cretaceous-Lower Ter...

The zone of left-lateral shear of the Chonta fault takes place a rotate deformation, arriving a moment in that the fractures of tension and the shear set are distributing parallelly, to the to continue the deformation left-lateral set R they act like a new shear zone and it with the combination of the new set of shears R and P, it gives place to the formation of a fracturing zone to way of braid. Then this hypothesis would be expandable to the other centers of veins of the San Genaro zone and to the different points of the Mining District of Castrovirreyna. The deflections of the Chonta structure (by example in the quadrangle of Huachocolpa), the rhombus form of the sinclinório of Castrovirreyna with sub parallel axial axis to the Chonta fault, allows to give a second hypothesis at regional level, that the sinclinório of Castrovirreyna could be part of a structure of the pull-appart ty...

This paper studies the process of state development in Puno through the prefects. This process was marked by two parallel objectives: integration into the Peruvian state and differentiation with Bolivia. Puno was considered a strategic region for the initial state because of its mining production, revenue collection through personal contributions, and status as a border zone. The Prefects, despite the instability and economic precariousness, tried to comply with demanded priorities by the state in the area, resorting to negotiation, suggestion, or opposition. The prefects were more successful in revenue collection and military control, while mining promotion and contraband control had little results.

Huancavelica owes its foundation to the discovery and exploitation of its quicksilver mines by the Spanish. Being constituted from the beginning and throughout the colonial period in a miners' camp. Located at 3,680 meters above sea level, it must have been supplied with food and other merchandise from the nearby valleys and from the cities of Lima and Huamanga, on which it was dependent. The hauling of these products, as well as the transportation of the mineral, was carried out by the muleteers, an activity that grows parallel to the city and the mining exploitation. The following pages deal with herding in the first half of this century.

To more economic growth, less chronic malnutrition? What factors determine the persistent association between extractive economies and prevalence of chronic malnutrition? The answer to these questions is made taking as the unit of analysis the regions in Peru from 1950 to 2010. It is considered a sample of five regions: Ancash, Cajamarca, Huancavelica extractive mining and agricultural tradition, and Lambayeque to Ica economy based on agribusiness, manufacturing and trade. The study shows, in the period, parallel processes and identify a complex range of social determinants between the continued growth and a tendency to decrease in chronic malnutrition, but with different speeds in the regions over the past decade envisioning opening an epidemiological transition in nutrition. It uses information from the INEI, ENDES, project evaluations, research reports and interviews with mothers of ...

The present paper treats about the reuse of the tailing through the shape of an aggregate of construction for the making of bricks ans aggregates of construction. Actually, there is a huge tailing pond in Ticapampa which belongs to the Mining Company Alianza, which has been built near the shore of the Santa river in km 170 and it is parallel to the highway Pativilca-Huaraz, which has a dimension of 750 X 200 meters and it has 19 metres high, which constitute an environment mining passive of high proportions by the huge volume that hás been located near to the área of the Santa River Basin. In that sense, there is a need of formulating solutions for this sort of environment problem which is a national concern and that was the main reason for developing many projects of research at The Ticapampa zone, in charge of a group of researchers from La Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, w...

The north of Peru is characterized by the presence of world-class porphyry (Cu-Au and Cu-Mo) and epithermal (Au) deposits, located on the west of central Andes, northern Peru. These mines and mineralized deposits are present in a temporal-structural associated with Neogene magmatism with ages from 24 Ma to 7 Ma, intruding silica-clastic rocks from the upper Cretaceous, which, due to the effects of tectonic deformations, particularly in the Cenozoic (Incaica and Quechua phases), led to the occurrence of mega controls Structural problems such as the one proposed in the following publication and hopes to open a window of debate in its environment. Structurally, the deposits in the north of Peru are controlled by mega structural systems that contain the Punre - Canchis fault (Rivera et al., 2008) in the eastern sector as the main structural accident, as well as the system of folds and faults...
