The purpose of this article is to analyze the results of a diagnostic test in order to determine the aspects, weaknesses and/or difficulties presented by tenth grade students of three educational institutions located in the rural area of the municipality of Garzón (Huila), institutions that have the modality or technical high school graduates in agriculture and livestock. This paper problematizes the current state of historical memory and cultural immunity as a cross-development trend in the field of education, noting that sociocultural thought has focused on understanding of historical memory and cultural immunity as parallel processes, and the transformation of the culture of education is described in relation to a new information reality, which gives rise to the dehistorization of the field of education. It analyzed the relation between reading comprehension and academic performance on students of fifth grade from a police educational institution of Callao. Not experimental type of studying and descriptive correlational design. To the sample of 140 male and female students were applied Reading Comprehension Test of Linguistic Complexity Progressive (LCP) of parallel forms, A Form Level 5 of Allende, Condemarín and Milicic (1991) adapted by Delgado (2005) to know reading comprehension levels and for academic performance it used the Official Record and Final Assessment Act. El presente trabajo tuvo a bien determinar la relación entre el proceso lector sintáctico y semántico y la comprensión lectora. La investigación presenta un enfoque cuantitativo, nivel descriptivo relacional y de tipo teórico con diseño no experimental. La población estuvo conformada por 121 estudiantes de sexto grado de educación primaria de una institución privada de Lima.
