The present article is divided in two parts: a preamble and the development of the information subject of study. In its first section, it is acknowledged the current absence of special chapters in most classic works on the War of the Pacific, dedicated to the role of religion. Having founded only four outstanding works, from the last century. Traditionally, the historiography of the independence of Peru has focused on the peoples’ desire (or lack thereof) of breaking free from the Spanish crown. Despite recent efforts to transcend dichotomous interpretations, there are still few studies that analyze why the people decided to participate in the war, regardless of the side they took. This article explores their motivation for participating in the war by analyzing the background of the social mobilization prior to the war, as well as the characteristics of guerrilla organization in rural Peru during the war of independence. Nos enfocaremos en el comportamiento de la poblacióndurante los principales acontecimientos del conflicto, como las pérdidas en batallas y combates, la huida del presidente Mariano Ignacio Prado y la llegada de los chilenos a la capital.Para ello, utilizaremos los relatos de diversos autores, como Ricardo Palma, Dora Mayer, entre otros testigos de la época, quienes nos apoyarán en la realización de nuestro discurso.

La Guerra del Pacífico (1879-1884) fue un conflicto bélico que involucró a Chile, Perú y Bolivia. El objetivo de este artículo consiste en reflexionar sobre las consecuencias de este enfrentamiento para el Estado peruano. Para ello, analizamos dos fuentes históricas que fueron producidas por intelectuales que tomaron las armas y lucharon en batallas: Cartas a Piérola sobre la ocupación chilena de Lima (entre 1880 y 1889), de Ricardo Palma y Discurso en el Politeama (1888), de Manuel González Prada. This paper is the result of a five-year investigation. It was made to understand roles that women play in both war and peace in Colombia. They are analyzed as participants in both constructs, war and peace, but also as political subjects that promote social transformation, recognizing in this effort the role they play as journalists in the media, in the duty of generating public opinion that strengthens the processes of women’s empowerment in the search for new states of peace in equity, and the reconstruction of the social frame in territories. The methodology is applied in two countries: Colombia and Peru. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar cómo se presenta la narrativa transmedia de la franquicia Star Wars desde el punto de vista de expertos en cinematografía, Lima, 2017, profundizando en aspectos como el tratamiento de la historia, la multiplataforma y la participación de la audiencia. A partir de estos aspectos se abordan 12 características y elementos de los mismos para tener un conocimiento amplio de este fenómeno narrativo. El análisis se realiza a partir de las respuestas de 8 expertos en cinematografía sobre la narrativa transmedia de Star Wars obtenidas mediante entrevistas personales para su posterior organización, interpretación, discusión y recomendación. All types of weapons were not used in the same way and at the same time during the prehistory of the Central Andean Area. Throwing weapons have been used mainly for hunting and ritual. Thrusting weapons have been war weapons par excellence, and hand to hand fight the preferred type of fight. Among thrusting weapons, the club, although dreadful in action, always symbolized power and prestige, while among cutting weapons, the axe became the tool of sacrifice called tumi, whereas the knife became the dagger.

The Catholic Church in Peru has played a political role in various decision-making spheres within Peruvian society. During the period of the Peruvian independence, the Catholic Church kept a low profile and was rejected by the dominant political sector with a liberal tendency. One of the main gaps in Peruvian historiography on the Pacific War is to reconstruct the steps taken by Nicolás de Piérola in Europe (1882-1884), after facing various scenarios such as the fall of Lima, losing the Presidency of the Republic in November 1881 and founding the short-lived National Party. When Piérola left for France (March 1882) he adopted a position of abstention and did not get involved in the war. Since that time, no further information is available on its operations abroad.
