In this edition of the magazine From the South we find a series of reflections on Peru framed within the commemoration of the bicentennial. Although only one of them focuses on directly studying the period of independence, and its analysis does not focus on how the separation with Spain was achieved or on the celebrations held in these years of pandemic, it is clear that all of the Papers in this issue contribute to the understanding of Peru in this specific context. 2021 has been a particular year. On the one hand, the country and the entire world are still immersed in the complex and changing reality of the pandemic, while, on the other hand, Peru has lived through an intense and exhausting electoral process that has not managed to put an end to the political instability that It has characterized it for the last five years.

The purpose of this article is to reflect on interculturality as an emerging issue in modernity, postmodernity and its scope, in the current political system, in the Latin American context. From the analysis made and ideas presented, it is shown that, if intercultural public policies continue to be developed in the current capitalist system, it will not be possible to develop theplanned objectives because, the neoliberal system, is generating legal forms capable of distorting the true value of the cultural elements of the original peoples (tourist goods or cultural heritage of humanity). Interculturality must be one of the public policies with the highest priority emphasis in the field of education for the 21st century and must be based on; learn to do, learn to know, learn to live together and learn to be, with more importance in learning to do, that is, every individual must know how t...

This article studies abuse from the theoretical psychonal proposal, to understand its causes and prevent it. We review Ferenczi's studies in his famous writing: "Confusion of language between adults and children." In this document it is postulated that the abuse would occur through a type of submission of the child to the aggressor. The concept of identification with the aggressor and the introjection of what is threatening or attacking is developed. All concepts that are developed in this article. Some studies of current psychoanalysts that refer to the works of Ferenczi and Freud are also reviewed. All contribute to understanding the causal factors of mistreatment or abuse. Additionally, we include reflection on the causes of various types of abuse, such as physical, emotional, sexual and gender. All with the assurance that if we understand abuse from its origin and know its causes, th...

Factors impacting on the discounting process are mirrored in every aspect of human activities, be it the philosophical, the aesthetic, the religious through to the environmental and scientific experiences. In short, discounting is a controversial concept, and yet, the economic profession seems to ignore that issues related to “long-term” discounting are complex, multifaceted, and far from settled. The environmental community in particular has expressed reservations about discounting, because this process —an inherently myopic one— embodies a built-in bias against the future generations. It will be argued here that the danger to ecological sustainability is of a specific nature, namely,it relates to the lack of substitutability between human-made capital and natural capital. If this assumption is accepted, then it follows that using a discount rate is an inadequate instrumentfor ac...

Rising electricity prices, concerns about climate change, independence and energy security drive the shift from the global lighting market to more energy-efficient light sources. Lighting, according to estimates by the International Energy Agency (IEA), accounts for almost 20% of the world's electricity consumption. In Peru, according to the Ministry of Energy and Mines, approximately 35% of primary energy (after processing and / or discounting losses) is destined to electricity generation, which presents important consumption in lighting: Residential Sector 15 % to 30%, Commercial sector approx. 33%, Public sector approx. 24% and industrial sector 10% to 15%. Given these important levels of consumption in lighting systems, transverse use in all sectors, the lack of a comprehensive regulatory policy framework, as well as the need to determine and establish energy efficiency alternatives,...

This article presents the results of a qualitative research project with an ethnographic approach based on interviews and observation of the work of artisanal fishers in Casma, a small coastal town in northern Peru. It explores the worldview, work techniques, and the changes, difficulties, and challenges faced by this fishing community. The study reveals how fishers perceive the sea as a living entity governed by spiritual norms and ritual practices; Furthermore, the fishers' technical language reflects their experience and the intergenerational transmission of knowledge. All of this allows us to understand how these elements shape a local knowledge that articulates experience, tradition, and adaptation to changes in fishing activity. It also highlights the importance of documenting and valuing this local knowledge as part of intangible cultural heritage

Social media has rapidly expanded to fulfill various purposes, such as keeping groups of people connected, sharing personal or organizational knowledge, and promoting commercial products. Pharmacies have not been left out of this trend, with many now using platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and others. The use of social media in healthcare can offer significant benefits in promoting and improving health, provided it is used responsibly. However, if misused, it carries substantial risks that can negatively impact public health and harm the credibility of both individual professionals and the profession as a whole. Therefore, before a pharmacist engages with social media, it is important to carefully consider the potential risks and benefits. This reflection should focus on ensuring actions that promote humanized healthcare and patient care, paying special attention ...

The task of the university professor is a mission and not simply a profession and that is why higher education should be impregnated with values. Nowadays education is articulated into three areas: the State, the Market and the Volunteering, but no one of these three sectors by themselves has covered the needs of all the citizens, there have always been losers, therefore the conjunction of the three sectors became necessary. Communitarianism promotes an ethical-social pact that favors the progress of society without nullifying the individual dimension. It believes that the university is the space where a communitarian consciousness should be promoted to generate a social capital by means of education and it is a privilege place to substantiate the moral identity of the person beginning with the commitment of the professor with the university student.

The exploitation of terrestrial mineral resources has been a source of economic benefits, environmental damage and human costs. New technologies, however, have been promoting space mining with the potential of synchronizing the benefits of this economic activity and reducing social and environmental damages. In this perspective, the present study examines two legal implications of this technological innovation: the legal nature and the ownership of natural space resources. With the objective of recognizing the most plausible legal subject, according to legal, logical and ethical criteria, in order to obtain title to the right of ownership of space ores and to propose the most appropriate treatment for their profits, the approach adopted aims to link land and space mining based on the perspective of renewed continuity. In order to reach this theoretical proposition, were previously analyz...
