Introduction: Lead times in the design and implementation of spaces in Lima represent 42% of the causes of customer dissatisfaction in the sales process. Therefore, the research focuses on the optimization of lead times, as they are usually very high in small companies (SMEs) and with non-standardized and therefore inefficient processes. Methods: A model is proposed that delineates a standardization plan for a process. Initially, it is necessary to map the existing state of sales process, recommend a new mapping of the quotation process using Value Stream Mapping (VSM), locate the critical path using Pert-CPM, and identify the activity that is causing the greatest amount of process delay. To make the process of identifying standards simpler, data is then gathered and categorized. After standardizing the sales procedure and validating the proposal with Arena Simulator, the outcomes are as...

In Peru, chicken is one of the most consumed foods in all regions. Due to the constant increase in population, chicken production is increasing in the country. For this reason, a food company must improve its efficiency to satisfy more customers and reduce its costs per productive unit without reducing its quality. The research can be useful to canning companies as well as companies where their machines suffer from many failures within production due to a lack of maintenance planning and worker training. The model used is based on two methodologies: 5S and TPM. These methodologies reduced the total production time per batch by 8% and improved the utilization rate by 7 percentage points. The use of these tools helped reduce corrective maintenance time and standardize processes to avoid recurring equipment failures.

A study was proposed in order to standardize the production processes of safety pants and shirts of a company in the city of Pelileo, Ecuador. A mixed approach was employed for the research: a situational analysis of the production process was conducted for the field study, while the product quality was assessed using a sample of 114 internal and external clients. The process was assessed using the 5M criteria (machines, labor, methods, materials and environment). The findings show that production processes did not meet the quality parameters due to a lack in quality control and insufficient infrastructure. 61 % of clients stated that quality control was lacking. 70 % of participants did not approve of the time allotted to each operator for their activities. It was concluded that it is necessary to develop a quality control procedure in order to ensure the quality of the final product.

This study addresses process optimization in a microenterprise specializing in dressmaking in Peru, which faces high levels of material waste and inefficient production methods. The company had an average monthly material waste rate of 18%, exceeding the values observed in other companies in the sector, impacting costs and sustainability. The PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) methodology was used to identify the root causes of inefficiencies, such as the lack of standardized work methods, improper use of tools, and suboptimal cutting templates. The implemented improvements included transitioning from paper templates to rigid templates, standardizing tracing and cutting processes, and eliminating unnecessary steps in the production process. These interventions reduced production time per dress from 236 to 189 minutes (19.8%), increased annual production capacity by 24.6%, and decreased material wa...

The chemical industry has showed steady growth in recent years and, as a result, the rate of intoxication has increased from the use of dangerous substances by employees of manufacturing companies. Therefore, small & medium enterprises (SMEs) in this industry must be committed to ensuring and guaranteeing safe and ergonomic workstations for employees that are mostly exposed to these risks to prevent incidents and reduce rates to a minimum when handling chemicals to produce paints and varnishes, and, at the same time, improve employee motivation and productivity. For this reason, this paper proposes the implementation of a safety management model based on process standardization and 5S for the purpose of promoting best practices in occupational safety and health, thereby reducing the number of intoxications within company grounds through employee collaboration in the improvement and optim...

Today it is difficult for an SME to apply the Quality Models and proposed tests such as CMMI, TMMi,, TMap, IEEE Standard referring to the process of V & V, this primarily by: 1) the degree of complexity,; 2) cost constraints that SMEs do not have enough money to hire market specialists that can provide the directives they need or 3) simply because of the ignorance that exists about the benefits obtained. The present research has as main objective to develop a methodological framework Process Verification and Validation adjusted for socioeconomic reality of SME. The framework was applied to the project Inventory Control System of the Company QBOSS SAC, the initial situation of the company was analyzed, then the methodological framework developed was applied, and finally the results were positive for the organization.

Over the last few years, the poultry sector has positioned itself advantageously in the Peruvian market since it contributes 56% of the animal protein consumption demanded by the population. This represents annual sales of around 11,000 million soles, which corresponds to 29% of the agricultural GDP. Based on the above, companies in this sector must be at the forefront to satisfy the growing demand of this product and avoiding customer dissatisfaction, since this reduces the profitability indexes generating economic loses. Part of these considerations is to reduce the 8.99% rate of order returns of a poultry company located in the south of Peru through a proposal that uses 5S tools and work standardization structured under the PDCA cycle. After the annual simulation of both models through the Arena software, the average error rate of the orders was reduced by 55.71%, the documentation se...
