Sorprendentemente, 12 y ...

The author analyzes the problem of the application of life imprisonment in the crime of rape of minors, provided for in Article 173 of the Peruvian Criminal Code. He considers that although the Peruvian Supreme Court and Constitutional Court have reaffirmed its constitutionality, in the face of exceptional situations that arise in each particular case (grounds for reduction of punishability, procedural bonuses and personal circumstances of both the victim and the aggressor), the criminal law has not provided for the possibility of reducing the penalty to limits below the legal minimum, which in many cases has led to the legal operator of lower instances, despite such assumptions, to impose disproportionate penalties, far from the principle of guilt. This had to be corrected by the Supreme Court, and a context of legal insecurity was manifested that denaturalizes the purposes of criminal ...

The complexity of the contemporary work environment has compelled organizations to adopt flexible work arrangements to enhance employee performance and satisfaction. Accordingly, this paper examines the implementation of employee flexibility and its effect on work quality. Specifically, it explores the impact of versatility, multitasking, and rapid response time on work quality. A survey research design was employed, targeting a population of 1,621 employees from selected manufacturing industries in Southwestern Nigeria. A scientifically determined sample size of 318 participants was selected, and a structured questionnaire was administered to them. The collected data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Findings reveal that multitasking exerts the strongest influence on work quality, followed by quick response time and versatility. The study ...

The aim of this study was to examine the preliminary evidence of validity of the Research Self-Efficacy Scale (RSE) through the analysis of item contents. A sample of ten research psychologists (70% male; Mage = 47.2 years old), and 34 Peruvian college students (> 70% female), both undergraduate (n = 19) and graduate (n = 15) was assessed. The researchers evaluated the relevance and clarity of the items, and the students, the clarity of the RSE statements. The answers given by the judges were systematized through Aiken’s V with confidence intervals, obtaining favorable results. In conclusion, the RSE exhibits favorable evidence regarding the representativity of the items. The practical implications of the findings are discussed here.

The UPPS-P scale is widely used to assess impulsivity. For this reason, the psychometric properties of the extensive version of UPPS-P were analyzed from the Rasch polytomous model. Eight hundred Argentine adolescents aged 12 to 18 years participated in the study. As a result, it was found that the dimensions of the UPPS-P presented an adequate fit to the Rasch model, adequate levels in the Person Separation Index (PSI), some items with local dependence and an adequate level of unidimensionality. It is concluded that the scale is a valid instrument to assess impulsivity in adolescents; therefore, a conversion table with interval scores is presented to increase the measurement precision of the instrument.

This study aimed to identify the capacity of the dark personality to explain the emotional intelligence trait. The sample comprised 395 subjects, aged 18 to 30 years (M = 21.19; SD = 1.75), who responded to the Short Dark Triad, Short Sadistic Impulse Scale, Spitefulness Scale and Emotional Skills Inventory. To achieve the proposed objective, a path analysis model was performed. The results indicated that sadism,  achiavellianism and narcissism positively explain the dimensions of emotional intelligence, while psychopathy and  pitefulness explain it negatively. The findings of this study highlight caution when interventions are carried out to increase emotional intelligence in individuals with dark traits, since they can use it for emotional  manipulation.
