Esta investigación analiza las variables de edad, sexo, precio y oficios en un corpus de avisos comerciales relacionados con el mercado de esclavos en Lima, publicados en el diario Mercurio Peruano (agosto 1827-diciembre 1832). El objetivo de este trabajo es conocer las características de la oferta y la demanda de esclavos en la capital del Perú en un periodo en el cual ya no había ni trata internacional ni reproducción social interna de la esclavitud. Los avisos comerciales de esclavos contribuyen a iluminar tensiones de la sociedad del momento, pues formaban parte de la experiencia cotidiana de unos lectores que, por un lado, defendían principios formales de la libertad e igualdad y, por el otro, ratificaban el orden tradicional de la desigualdad esencial entre los hombres. These changes have had an impact on its business model and prospects, giving even greater power to revenues from the sale of advertising space. The main objective of this research is to delve into the changes that have occurred in the prices of advertising in the printed press in the last decade (2013-2022) and to analyze the future commercial scenarios that the medium faces in the coming years. This study compiles and analyzes data on views of politicians and economists reported in news articles published in five Spanish dailies (the three leading national newspapers –El País, El Mundo and ABC-, and the two leading financial newspapers –Expansión and Cinco Días-). Quantitative content analysis will be used as the basic methodology for research. The present investigation evaluates the technological, economic, financial, and social viability of the installation of purple corn flour (Zea Mays L.) spaghetti producing plant. The product will be aimed at people between 18 and 60 years old, belonging to socioeconomic level A and B in Lima Metropolitana. This would be sold in packages of 500 gr. through supermarkets such as Wong and Vivanda at a price of S/ 14,00 for the final consumer. The demand for the project would be 116 934 kg. of spaghetti for the last year of the project. Likewise, it was determined that the installed production capacity of the plant would be 229 592 kg of spaghetti per year. In the age of the Internet, anonymous online users can form a societal reaction by posting large quantities of critique and insulting comments against (perceived) norm violations on social media. These so-called online firestorms, or Enjō in Japanese, tend to include aggressive behavior against the target. This research aims to reveal the dynamics of Enjō and explores how people communicate with each other in the formation process of Enjō by conducting a comparative case study. This study collects tweets posted in five Enjō cases and compares each case to create conceptual categories of the communication process of Enjō. Social networking sites have had a significant impact on politics and democracy. They can bring about positive changes that contribute to establishing a more effective and complete democracy. In this study, we investigate the relationship between social networks and democratic effectiveness in Latin American countries. We conducted a quantitative and inferential statistical analysis using representative surveys from2023 to demonstrate that the internet and social networks have a notable impact on the democratization process of these countries. Our study challenges the hypothesis proposed by Lipset that a nation’s economic prosperity contributes to strengthening democracy.

In the media industry, fast innovations and increasing competition require a high degree of corporate leadership (Koryak, Mole, Lockett, et al., 2015). The study of leadership appears to be an increasingly relevant issue. This research aims to find out to what extent leaders (editors and publishers) behave and understand their roles in Chilean and Spanish newsrooms. A questionnaire was applied to measure and identify leadership traits that are considered crucial, thus making possible to acknowledge transformational leaders and differentiate efficient leaders from ineffective. The results show that editors believe they have the ability to inspire, share goals and understand what is important, in contrast with the working experiences of their employees, that often have a low opinion of media companies as places to work.

The article approaches approach to the assumptions of methodologies for measuring online conversation. These methodologies record what users do when access to social media institutional profiles, which allows observing the impact of the publications. However, they do not take into account neither the response of institutions as a result of listening to users nor the possibilities of co-creation. This paper analyzes the information treatment of the Mapuche people in the newspaper El Mercurio during two periods. First, between 1950 and 1973 (twentieth century); and second, during the years 2010, 2013 and 2014, (21st century). To this end, a corpus of 340 journalistic texts has been selected, of which 147 correspond to the 20th century (1950-1970) and 193, to the 21st century (2010, 2013-2014). The analysis shows that most of the frames are linked to conflicts, criminal prosecutions and arson attacks; so that El Mercurio prioritizes connotations and negative events to inform about the Mapuche indigenous people.

En Perú el principal producto agrícola de exportación es el café. Según INEI (2012) en el último Censo Nacional Agropecuario, aproximadamente 223 mil familias cultivan 425,400 hectáreas de café, las cuales se encuentran distribuidos en 15 regiones, 95 provincias y 450 distritos. La producción está en manos de pequeños y medianos agricultores, ubicadas en un 75% por encima de los 1,000 msnm. The paradigm shift in media and social communications is forcing us to rethinking the role and responsibility of the user. Studies on consumer ethics are relatively recent and have shown little interest in the ethical decision-making processes of media users and consumers. In the side of media ethics, the attention paid to consumers and users of the media has also been scarce. The aim of this article is to identify principles and criteria that may serve as guidelines for a media users’ ethics adapted to the current times and technologies. The reflection starts with a review of the academic literature and the principles, values and norms that can be traced in the documents of the Catholic Social Teaching (CST) on media ethics.
