OBJETIVO Investigar associação entre participação no programa de assistência alimentar e sobrepeso/obesidade, segundo nível de pobreza. MÉTODOS Estudo transversal com dados sobre 46.217 mulheres não gestantes e não lactantes, de Lima, Peru, obtidos de pesquisas, com representatividade nacional, nos anos de 2003, 2004, 2006 e 2008-2010. A variável dependente foi o sobrepeso/obesidade e a independente foi a participação no programa de assistência alimentar. Utilizou-se regressão de Poisson; os modelos foram estratificados por nível socioeconômico familiar para todo o país, por área de residência (Lima versus o resto do país; urbano versus residência rural) e anos de estudo (2003-2006 versus 2008-2010). The social programs to combat poverty have been under permanent observation both by the beneficiaries of these programs and by the criticism they received for the political use that was given to them. Two major issues aroused interest in the study of these programs. First, because, despite the investment from the public treasury and the contributions from international cooperation for the strategy to combat poverty, the problems that persisted showed the poor focus of the investment, the loss of objectives, the leaking of aid and the dispersion of the programs, in addition to the serious problems of administration of the resources. Second, because reelectionist political campaigns were associated with the intensification and expansion of food support for urban and rural populations.

The objective of this article is to estimate the impact of the Pension 65 social program on per capita expenditures on food. The study is based on a quantitative methodological perspective, using the differences-in-differences technique with propensity score matching (DD-PSM). For this purpose, the database of the 2017-2018 National Household Survey (ENAHO) is used, both for the treatment and the control group. The unit of analysis are Peruvian households at the national level that participated in the program for two consecutive years, with 2017 as the baseline. The results obtained indicate that per capita expenditure on food has increased by 15.02% for those households that receive the Pensión 65 program.

The research addresses the evaluation of the effectiveness of social food programs in Peru from 2012 to 2021. The findings indicate that the "Qali Warma" program exhibits deficiencies in budget management, since the increase in beneficiaries is attributed to the inclusion of people not qualified as poor. As for "Cuna Más", there has been a decrease in its effectiveness in recent years, mainly due to the impact of the pandemic. On the other hand, the "Vaso de Leche" program, despite receiving fewer resources, demonstrates its effectiveness in contributing to the improvement of social welfare. Materials and Methods: 467 medical records of patients admitted a treatment for tuberculosis were reviewed, finding 33 people in poorness extreme, obtaining information from their social condition, disease, and whoare interviewed about the pattern of consumption food basket of PANTBC. Several food programs attempting to meet social demand and to counter social inequality have been created in Peru. Qali Warma is one of these programs. Peruvian government has promoted its design, planning and implementation. However, this public policy presents certain weaknesses and setback. This article’s purpose is to analyze the power and autonomy of the Peruvian State to implement this program from a political science perspective. Therefore, its structure, scope and impact are evaluated from the approach of authors such as Max Weber, Michael Mann and Guillermo O’Donnell. The research concludes that it is a strong bureaucracy and infrastructure policy, but also it has coverage and corruption problems seen as brown areas, which make its efficiency questionable.

Objective: To estimate the coverage of being a beneficiary of the Vaso de Leche (VDL – Glass of Milk) and Qali Warma (QW – Vigorous Child) programs among children under 5 years of age and to determine the associated factors. Global consumption trends and technological disruption is creating the path towards an omnichannel approach in food B2C selling. Food companies have seen an unprecedented evolution in this context, that is challenging their marketing strategies. This thesis tackles this problem by developing a segmentation study in France, employing Latent Class Analysis, based on the use of multiple touchpoints across the food purchase process, aiming to identify customer profiles, channel allocation, and psychographic characteristics related to food consumption.
