The voluntary correction is an acquittal excuse alleged by the defendants which consists in their behavior’s correction and is invoked frequently in the administrative process. Although this statement should be contrasted with the obligations set in the Environmental Management Strategies approved by the Certification Authority and if the effects of the behavior had been minimized.

Virtual reality in Pediatric Dentistry has enormous potential, in the treatment of phobia of dental treatments, this technology is also promising, since it shows satisfactory results and in the surgical area it has a high potential for complex treatments, allowing predictable and safe results. However, future studies should have to establish technological standards with high data quality and in the development of applications approved for clinical routine. Distraction is a non-pharmacological pain management technique commonly used by Pediatric Dentists to control pain and anxiety. There are some new techniques that use audio and video stimulation and distract the patient by exposing him to three-dimensional videos. These techniques are called virtual reality audiovisual systems. The objective of this case was to evaluate the effectiveness of virtual reality glasses as a distraction aid ...

In this article, the following procedures were carried out: a geological-mining evaluation, taking five water samples (A1-A5), and five soil samples (S1-S5) to define pollution levels. The results of the analysis of the water samples were checked against the environmental quality standards (ECA) of the Ministry of Environment (MINAM). Considering the analysis of water for population use, aluminum (Al) and iron (Fe) were detected as elements that have exceeded quality standards; while, in the analysis of water for animal drink and vegetable irrigation, the values were below the established standards. The results, with respect to the collection of five soil samples, did not exceed the levels of the Environmental Quality Standards (ECA), because the values were below the established standards. In view of the results indicated above, the Dutch regulations that consider other cont...

In the implant rehabilitations supported in the previous sector, a surgical and prosthetic protocol should be carried out as a mechanism to ensure the aesthetics and function of the procedure to be performed. The objective of this clinical case is to present a rehabilitation protocol in a soft tissue test and management document to preserve aesthetics through provisional prosthetic structures, ending with rehabilitation with the zirconium oxide abutment with titanium base and a crown of lithium disilicate as means to achieve high aesthetics. The prediction of a unitary implant in the anterior sector requires the clinician to know three-dimensional structures conjugated with a soft tissue and material handling in an appropriate way, to predict the medium- or long-term behavior in the protection and prevention of aesthetics.

We report a 35-year-old female patient with Glanzmann's thrombasthenia (GT) and severe anemia due to abnormal uterine bleeding secondary to uterine myomatosis. She required several admissions of red blood cells and platelet transfusions. An elective subtotal hysterectomy with salpingo-oophorectomy was proposed and recombinant factor VII was required. Surgical and postoperative outcomes were successful, without surgical complications, bleeding, or hemogram alterations. 4 years later, she required tooth extraction because of periodontal disease and pulp necrosis. In Peru, reports of GT patients requiring major and minor surgical procedures are lacking, given the low disease prevalence and the difficulties related to surgery. The report of these successful cases becomes relevant to continue improving GT management.

This paper presents an investigation of the extraction of essential oils by steam distillation. The process is analyzed and a model is developed for the extraction of essential oil of eucalyptus in pilot scale with a steam flow of 5.73 g / min. According to the model Dunckhorst-Houghton, which considers the effect of axial dispersion, and the use of optimization procedures to establish the model parameters, excellent agreement was obtained between the amount of oil extracted theoretical and experimental.

In our research, a phytochemical screening was performed by the method of Cain - Bohmann modified yielding presence of good amount of saponins, which were identified as triterpenoid saponins using qualitative tests that were positive and the test of the foam reaction with the reagent Salwosky, Bouchard Liberman reagent and reaction with sulfuric acid. Three quantitative methods for extracting saponins from a hydroalcoholic extract of the plant and subsequent hydrolysis were developed. The difference of the first two methods was to use a method with the sample defatted with chloroform and the other without scouring . For the third method according to the procedure applied M.E.Wall et al. (1958). Extraction rates for the three methods saponins were 3.90%, 2.40 % and 2.02% respectively. Similarly the corresponding aglycones after acid were obtained by hydrolyzing the crude obtained via.

At present, the use of DNA extracted from non-invasive samples, especially feces, is common practice in the discipline of conservation genetics. Even though DNA analysis is often difficult mainly due to the composition and preservation of feces has been shown in many species with the development of suitable extraction methods is possible to maximize the reliability and effectiveness of such procedures. The objective of this study has been optimization of a protocol for the extraction of DNA from vicuña feces (Vicugna vicugna mensalis), species classified as Near Threatened in Peru, in order to obtain DNA of sufficient quality for molecular analysis. A total of 51 samples were taken from vicuña dung piles in two communities located 4600 meters above sea level in the dry Puna ecosystems of the regions of Junin and Moquegua between August and September 2008. After observing defecation, sa...

Aim: Black triangles (open gingival embrasures) result from a reduction in the height of the interdental papilla below the contact point and can lead to food impaction, alveolar bone loss, difficulties in plaque control, compromised esthetics, and speech problems. Since achieving a harmonious and esthetic smile is one of the primary goals of orthodontic treatment, identifying risk factors associated with these spaces is of great clinical importance. The aim of the present study was to investigate and compare risk factors related to the occurrence of black triangles after orthodontic treatment. Methods: Records of 47 patients between the ages of 14-34 years old, all treated with fixed orthodontics using the MBT 0.22 system and bilateral premolar extraction, were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were divided into two groups based on the presence (n=25) or absence (n=22) of black triangle...

The efficacy of a local anesthetic in a surgical procedure such as lower third molar extraction is very important given the complexity of this procedure such as incision, flap, odontosection and ostectomy, curettage, lavage and suture. Local anesthetics are drugs that reversibly inhibit nerve conduction in the area where they are applied (Almeida et al., 2020), inhibiting the perception of pain, with the sequence being: increased skin temperature and vasodilation, loss of pain and thermal sensitivity, loss of perception, loss of sensation of touch and pressure and loss of motor skills(Arribas Blanco et al., 2001), the anesthetic effect varies between 2 to 4 hours approximately. Currently, several studies suggest that Articaine 4% should be used in extractions of lower third molars because it has better clinical properties compared to Lidocaine 2%, both associated with epinephrine 1: 100,...

In the present reserch, two methods for the extraction of starch from seeds of Amaranthus quitensis L. (Ataco) were analyzed in order to determine the procedure with the best performance and then to determine its main physical-chemical and functional characteristics. Initially, the inflorescences of the Ataco plants were collected, where their seeds are found, to later extract them, dry them to the environment and finally reduce them to fine dust. Then, simultaneous extractions of the starch contained in the flour were carried out by testing with two independent methods; the first wet method with bidistilled water and the second with an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH, 0.25 M); the starch extracted by both methods was washed and dried to the environment, to later calculate its yield, establishing that the highest yield is achieved with the method of extraction with NaOH soluti...

Background: Periodontitis is potentially harmful in the perioperative period due to biofilm generating a environment for bacteria to spread and colonize other anatomical areas, which can generate a potential risk of infection, delayed healing, increased morbidity, and even induce avulsion in intubated patients, and subsequent aspiration or ingestion of teeth with increased mobility. Objective: Associate the presence of periodontitis and postoperative complications in patients who underwent an in-hospital medical surgical procedure. Methods: A systematic review based on studies extracted from PubMed and Scopus was carried out on June 10, 2020, based on the Population, Intervention, Comparison and Result search strategy. As inclusion criteria, the studies had to include all the disaggregated terms of the research question, have a publication date of less than 15 years, and the target popul...
