In manufacturing processes, there are conditions that continually impact decision-making among when choosing among alternatives; the selection is usually influenced by critical aspects such as quality, productivity, costs and customer feedback, among others. This article analyzes different adhesives for the process of gluing parts for sports shoes in a company located in the city of Purisima del Rincon in Guanajuato, México. The analysis employs statistical engineering tools and an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) methodology. The case studied deals with an issue with gluing parts. The glue currently employed is of good quality but has drawbacks such as its high cost and thickness, which leads to a time-consuming manual application, affecting productivity. We propose and apply an AHP model with input information obtained by means of industrial experimentation in order to select the best...

Negotiation is an activity inherent to the human being, which is carried out practically on a daily basis, even if it is not consciously internalized. In this sense, this work aims to strengthen the idea that the negotiating technique should be addressed in political, judicial and extrajudicial environments as an ideal means for the resolution of conflicts of various kinds, mainly in those where the State plays a fundamental role, as the main interest in peace, in providing for its legal order, all the mechanisms that facilitate the desidertum of a harmonious coexistence, in the context of a social contract.   For this will show how discipline arises, in a transit that goes from the "Game Library", through the "Decision Library", to reach synergistically a methodology that must be contemplated in an inessible way, in every conflict addressed by man. In this sense, as a methodol...

Purpose: This paper aims to provide empirical evidence for using the prospect theory (PT) basic assumptions in the Argentine context. Mainly, this study analysed the financial decision-making process in students of the economic-administrative academic area of two universities, one public and one private, in Córdoba. Design/methodology/approach. The analysis methodology included (1) the descriptive statistical analysis to identify the presence of the certainty, reflection and isolation effects; (2) the construction of a set of indicators on the application of the PT; (3) the chi-squared independence test, to determine if the decisions made are independent of the degree course taken; (4) the non-parametric Kruskal–Wallis test, to determine if the decisions made by individuals vary according to the semesters taken or students' levels of progress; and (5) the non-parametric Mann–Whitney...

Public health systems have the great challenge of meeting the population's health needs with limited financial resources. Thus, to incorporate new health technologies (HT) in their coverage plans, they use tools that allow them to inform their decisions based on scientific evidence, such as health technology assessments (HTAs). These are developed in a multidisciplinary way, under an explicit methodology, which estimates the value of a technology. With this information, the decision-maker can support his decision, anticipate the impact of its implementation, plan actions, and set goals, all of which promote efficient use of resources, transparency of processes, and facilitate accountability. The Peruvian Social Security healthcare system (EsSalud) implemented, through the Instituto de Evaluación de Tecnologías en Salud e Investigación (IETSI), a decision-making process based on HTAs t...

The purpose of this investigation is to conduct an analysis of the influence of information technologies (ICTs) and production processes in organizations in the industrial sector in the state of Tamaulipas during times of COVID-19. The study evaluated the municipalities of Tampico, Altamira and Reynosa. The research instrument was applied to managers and directors of different organizations, producing a total of 45 interviews and employing the partial least squares (PLS) regression technique for data analysis. The Omega McDonald index and Dillon-Goldstein’s RHO were employed to assess the instrument’s confidence level. The results indicate that the intervention new information technologies (ICTs) as tools for innovation and competitiveness in the labor market contributed as much as nearly 84 %.

The due motivation for issuing decisions is the constitutional right of citizens to know the factual and legal reasons that the authorities and officials, especially those of the State apparatus, adopt to resolve claims, where their interests are included. This right is a component of the due process, also called fair process, an expression of effective procedural protection. There is a gender-to-species relationship between both concepts and, consequently, they are closely linked; therefore, undue motivation would be a flagrant violation of citizens’ rights. In this line of ideas, one constantly hears about the filing of appeals against decisions issued because citizens are not satisfied with them, one of the arguments being the lack of motivation, for allegedly having violated substantive and procedural guarantees in the course of the process. In some cases, the appeals are admitted ...

The present article proposes to design a model that provides a generic architecture which acts autonomously in public works contracting selection processes, in order to generate an automated decision criterion in the event of a tie. For the Simplified Tender selection process, in case of a tie, it is proposed to choose the bidder by means of an electronic lottery based on a controlled randomization system of encryption and transformation. For the Public Bidding selection process, in the event of a tie, the bidder is chosen by means of a predicted compliance index according to the behavior of the companies when executing similar infrastructure projects. To this end, a model that predicts the probability of success or failure of the bidder to execute a project before initiating it is generated, using artificial neural networks as an analysis tool. This paper reviews the common characterist...

The decision-making process is a key element within many fields. Rationality is a theoretical framework to understand that social and economic behavior which contributes to better decisional processes. This role of rationality generates expectations from the stakeholders of the decisional process, one of which is refers to the need of including ethical criteria within the decisional process itself. This essay explores both the concept of rationality, as well as its types, in order to evaluate the extent to which ethical criteria should be part of said process. In doing this, the concepts of minimal instrumental rationality and ethics are analyzed, setting the stage for a discussion of common fields and roles in relation to both available knowledge before the decision-making, and reasoning, derived actions, and consequences. This essay concludes that rationality and ethics share much duri...
