The principle of legality needs to transcend its formal dimension to address the arbitrariness of punitive power and rationalize its interventions. Public administration, anchored in hierarchies and bureaucracies, demands the decentralization and modernization of activities and tools; therefore, the new information and communication technologies brought about by electronic governance play a crucial role in the analysis and delivery of government results. The purpose of this study was to comprehend the contribution of this governance in local governments through a systematic review of 22 investigations available between 2019 and 2023. El presente estudio aporta evidencia empírica sobre el nivel de relación entre el estilo de liderazgo y el empoderamiento directivo en instituciones educativas, previa identificación del estilo directivo predominante. Se aplicó a 65 directivos de instituciones educativas de la provincia de Chiclayo una encuesta de 29 reactivos, construida en base al sistema administrativo de Likert y empoderamiento psicológico de Menon. Los resultados muestran que el estilo autopercibido por los directivos escolares es el autoritario coercitivo; así mismo, perciben que son competentes para el ejercicio de su rol directivo. Se concluye en el estudio que existe una relación muy significativa entre estilos de liderazgo de Likert y las dimensiones del empoderamiento psicológico propuesto por Menon.
