There are a variety of techniques for testing the differences between dependent correlations that are not available using the standard statistical software packages. Examples of these techniques for examining different hypotheses within the dependent correlational realm are presented along with the output and interpretation from easily attainable, user-friendly, interactive software.

There is a variety of techniques to test the differences between independent correlations which are not available in statistical programs familiar to the researcher. We present examples of these techniques to evaluate different hypotheses within the context of correlations in independent samples, together with interactive, friendly and freeware computer programs.

An important part of the development of process engineering is the calculation of the material balance, which is often very time consuming, especially when dealing with complex problems, because it involves analyzing a population of input variables and multiple simultaneous equations. This article presents a solution methodology through a computer program to facilitate calculations.

Since the nineties, the inclusion of technological components in the training of translators has been a need identified by translation professionals and academics. In this context, a cross-sectional exploratory study was proposed, aimed at looking into the inclusion of translation-applied computer sciences in the translation programs offered at public universities in Argentina, both in specific technology courses and in other curricular and extracurricular areas. Based on the information contained in documentary sources collected by the research project “Training in Translation and Interpretation in Argentina” (04/J025, UNComahue), and on the answers to questionnaires administered to the directors of the 18 study programs included, this article presents some preliminary conclusions: a minority of the study programs being researched contain a mandatory course on translation-applied co...

The exposure of antibiotics in water is an environmental concern where comprehensive methodologies are needed to signal early the probability of risk. The objective of the study was to describe the environmental occurrence of antibiotics and its predictive ecotoxicological through the Gecotoxic® computer program. By non-probabilistic sampling for convenience, a scientific review article was selected assessing, the number of antibiotics and only ciprofloxacin; oxytetracycline, sulfamethoxazole, trimethoprim and erythromycin (out of 39) were represented on the four continents assessed: Africa, America, Asia-Pacific and Europe. Other studies considered the correlational limitation between bioassays, tax source characterization data, physical-chemical parameters and / or associated environmental matrix analyses. It was concluded that the ecotoxicology of antibiotics is predictable through t...

Snap! is a cloud-native graphical programming environment and an online community. It is the programming language made for UC Berkeley’s popular introductory CS course named “The Beauty and Joy of Computing”. Snap! is taught in colleges and high schools across the U.S. from Palo Alto to Philadelphia. It has been translated to more than 40 languages and is used around the world—from Göttingen to Beijing—for teaching and research. Snap! has been designed for inclusion. Its low floor welcomes beginners and its multi-media capabilities invite creative thinkers of all ages. At the same time, Snap! offers sophisticated abstractions that make it suitable for an intellectually rigorous introduction to computer science.

Objective: To determine the digital skills among students of the master’s program in Palliative Care and Pain Management at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos School of Medicine in 2022.Materials and methods: A non-experimental, descriptive and cross-sectional research. The study population was comprised of students of the master’s program in Palliative Care and Pain Management enrolled in the year 2022. A non-probability sample was used. Data were collected through the survey “Digital Skills in Higher Education Questionnaire” (CDES), consisting of 46 indicators distributed in five factors with a reliability of 0.96 according to Cronbach’s alpha. Data confidentiality and participants’ autonomy were respected. Results: The final sample was made up of 59 students, the average age was 38.03 years and 76.3 % were women. All students had a personal computer and Internet acces...

The computer system for production planning determines what and how much to produce in order to achieve the goals set by clothing small and medium enterprises (SMEs); that is, to meet the demands on time and get the maximum benefit. Using a quantitative approach, a mathematical programming model for goal optimization and the Scrum framework were implemented in the study. In addition, MS Excel software was used for both the mathematical model and databases. The interfaces for data entry and reporting solution were developed in the Java SE platform. The computer system was installed in two SMEs: It increased productivity in both of them and was accepted for its ease of use and quick adaptation. The pandemic did not allow the installation of the computer system in other SMEs.
