An alternative model of well-being and development using an emic and post-hoc approach is presented. This method was applied to a non-educated corridor sample which includes rural and urban shantytowns (n = 550). A psychometric wellbeing battery was developed for this study. Analytical technique includes a modified version of Confirmatory Factor Analysis in order to meet the demands of the post-hoc theorisation rationale. Alternative models of universal needs, subjective life satisfaction, resources, and values are presented. A three factor personality solution is described. Discussion emphasises the advantages of these results compared to theories and approaches from Europe and United States in theoretical and empirical terms. Implications for development are also discussed.

Education is the most basic institution in the development process in each country. In other words, if education is dynamic, active, and vibrant in a country, the country will naturally be a growing and developed country. Professional and effective training of professional and effective managers is one of the basic problems, whose successful and effective implementation in an organization requires a set of competencies, skills, abilities, and special characteristics. Competence is a special tool for workforce planning and management. In this regard, much attention to the competency approach stems from the capabilities of the organization. In other words, a successful and effective organization creates and maintains its competitive advantage by developing individuals’ competencies. On the other hand, the competency approach is of great importance in the development of managers as they c...

The literature shows multiple bibliometric studies on business models across various sectors; however, little attention has been paid to the systematic analysis of academic production in tourism entrepreneurship. The business model in these ventures is a complex process involving sustainable practices and exchanging knowledge and resources within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Entrepreneurs in tourism often have limited management and organisational capabilities due to an insufficient understanding of the components of business models and their interrelationships in fostering innovation and sustainability. This paper aimed to analyse the lack of unified definitions regarding business models in tourism entrepreneurship and provide guidelines for developing new models and managing existing ones. Through an analysis of 71 articles published between 2000 and 2022, 14 key components were iden...

This paper examines internal investigations as an essential component of prevention models established under Law 30424 in Peru. Since the implementation of this regulation in 2017, supplemented by its 2019 decree, legal entities are required to adopt compliance programs or prevention models, known as Criminal Compliance, to mitigate the risks of criminal offenses. A key element of these models is the whistleblowing procedure, which includes internal investigations designed to identify crime indicators and ensure the validity of results. The study underscores the need to distinguish internal investigations from criminal investigations. The former are private, voluntary, and focused on organizational learning, while the latter are public, mandatory, and conducted by the Public Prosecutor’s Office with punitive and legal liability objectives. A paradigm shift is proposed to view internal ...

Nowadays spatio-temporal forecasting has been drawing more and more attention from academia researchers and industrial practitioners for its great utility to plan and develop contingency measures against future adverse conditions. In this thesis, a methodology to forecast maps in spatio- temporal raster datasets is proposed. Following a summarize-predict-and-rebuild methodology, it 1) first suggests a reduction in the dimensionality of data using a principal component analysis, then 2) individual forecasts on the most significant components or eigenvectors are calculated using a neural networks - wavelet decomposition model. Finally, 3) a recursive algorithm, applied on the spectral inverse reconstruction of the individual forecasts, provides the final forecast maps. The devised methodology led to three models according: the spatial principal component anal¬ysis (SPCA) model, the tempor...

The principles of this paper are about the problematic that many organizations have, in order to face unexpected events that were never experimented. Furthermore, how severe those events could be for the business continuity. Thus, this study searches for the relation between three concepts: Crisis Management, Live Simulation and Knowledge Management. For those reasons, it purposes to set a group of members from each organization into an experimental scenario that simulates an enterprise in crisis. The idea after the experiment is to accept or reject the usefulness of the simulation as a tool for Crisis Management, likewise, as a dynamic way to share and create knowledge. In order to firm the mission, several theories and assertions are presented -from different authors- in relation to concepts such as, human apprenticeship, crisis, crisis management, simulation, knowledge management and ...

The research is divided into two articles, presenting a bioenergy territorial planning proposal for LATAM. The first part focuses on an urban circular economy (CE) model using household organic municipal waste based on source separation. The second part is related to a proposal for designing internal combustion engines for renewable and alternative gaseous fuels. This paper quantifies the bioenergy potential that could be generated for LATAM by using national population censuses-based on scientific formulation and AI-powered databases to estimate the amount of biofertilizers, biogas, and green hydrogen that can be obtained according to the proposed CE model. The sustainability of the CE model is analyzed through a thermo-economic assessment, social impact, and environmental impact, with carbon footprint measurement using a standardized calculator. Additional considerations, risk analysis...

The study aimed to estimate the components of (co) variance and genetic parameters for growth traits as birth weight (BW), weaning weight (WW) and weight at 16 months of age (W16) of calves of the creole breed Costeño con Cuernos, born between 1989 and 2011 in a herd located in the northeast of Colombia. For this, 3060, 2594 and 1990 BW, WW and W16 records were analyzed, respectively. Single-trait (UNI) and multi-trait (MT) models were used. Six variants were evaluated with the UNI model, in all cases the random effect of the animal was included and the rest of the models alternated the maternal effect, the effect of the permanent environment and the relationship between the direct and maternal effect. Goodness of fit was determined using the information criteria of Akaike (AIC), Bayesiana (BIC) and LogL. For BW and WW models involving direct, maternal, and permanent maternal environmen...

The research analyzes the sustainability of environmental indicators, which is essential in the proposals for sustainable development models. In similarity to the ideal physical model of the harmonic movement of masses for its application in a sustainability concept, the Adapted Holzer Method is used to conceptualize the Sustainable Harmonic Movement (MAS) in its economic, social, environmental and institutional dimensions of the system components environmental. The main characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of MAS are exposed. Likewise, the requirements and the analysis of graphics are established for the acceptance of simulations of the models. Finally, the sustainability simulation results applied to a group of environmental indicators are presented. The application verifies that the analysis of sustainability components using the physical model facilitates decision-making to ...

This article analyzes the impact of the instructional redesign of a course aimed at developing written communication skills, implemented in 2018 at a private university in Lima, Peru. The research is framed within the socio-discursive interactionism (SDI) model, which views writing as a situated practice shaped by specific communicative contexts. It also draws on the Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) approach, which promotes writing as a transversal tool across all disciplines, emphasizing its cognitive (Writing to Learn), critical (Writing to Engage), and rhetorical (Writing in the Disciplines) dimensions. The study focused on the rhetorical component, adopting a quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-intervention assessments in two groups: experimental and control. The results show a moderate impact on the development of rhetorical competence, reflected in a greater alignment o...

Owing to the impossibility of explaining the abrupt changes in the Peruvian economy, especially since 1968, using traditional variables (physical capital and workforce), this piece attempts to do so by applying fresh ones (human capital, government spending and real liquidity). These provide an explanation for a substantial part of the function of production in the Peruvian economy between 1960 and 1990. The use of these variables is grounded in the models of growth with endogenous technical progress, which suggest that an economy's growth does not depend on any single factor but a combination of them. The study confirms this fact for readers.

The systematization of a relevant experience such as the training of 21 in-service teachers with the use of an action-research component was aimed at documenting and writing what happened, as well as explaining the results achieved as a result of the intervention. The aim was to interpret the experience critically, to learn from it and improve future practice. The study used qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. The results suggest that the component favored teachers to question their own beliefs about teaching and strengthen their abilities to make teaching problematic. They also suggest that these changes occur in training events that include spaces for reflection and discussion about beliefs and practices.

The aim of this study was to estimate the allometric parameters of different parts of pirapitinga (Piaractus brachypomus), as well as to establish if the growth of these components is allometric or isometric. In total, 60 specimens collected at random from a farm in Arauca (Colombia) were used. Live weights, carcass weights and weights of scales, viscera and gills were determined. Three algorithms were tested to quantify the relationships between live body weight and each of the components: Ordinary Least Squares, Reduced Major Axis, and Major Axis. The data were logarithmically transformed in order to fit the equations to the allometric function y=10bxa, where y represents the body component in question and x is the independent associated variable. The three methods provided regression coefficients that are, from a theoretical point of view, different, thus providing different estimates...
