In the present study, new biosorbents based on magnetite (Fe3 O4 ), hydroxyapatite (HAp) and multiple-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) composites were prepared. The materials were characterized by dynamic light scattering (DLS), infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM), raman spectroscopy and square wave voltammetry (SWV). The synthesized magnetite presented a ferromagnetic behavior. HAp was smaller by hydrothermal synthesis. In addition, the possible use of the composite involving the 3 starting materials (Fe3O4/MWCNT/HAp) in the removal of a heavy metal such as As(V) in aqueous solution was evaluated, taking into account the influence of factors such as pH, adsorbent mass and contact time. The maximum values of percentage of removal of this metal (greater than 85 %) were obtained under conditions of pH 6, adsorbent dose of 0. ...

Fluorine is a chemical element, it plays a very important role in the oral cavity, bone formation in the first years of life, and it is a fundamental part in the appearance of enamel crystals. It works in the demineralization and re-mineralization processes that occur in the oral cavity, these are found in different types of food that are consumed every day, their main source of consumption is drinking water, fluorinated supplements, formula milk, toothpaste, Oral gum should be consumed with measure in its application for a good dental brushing since excess fluoride can cause a pathology called dental fluorosis, which is why the supervision of adults is recommended at the time of oral hygiene in children. The objective of this literature review is to sensitize parents and health professionals about application protocols and their appropriate use of fluorine compounds, helping to preven...

Objective. To analyze the application of entomotherapy and its potentialin Panama. Methods. The study is a brief analysis of the application ofentomotherapy worldwide and the establishment of a list of 20 potentialarthropod species that could be used for this purpose in Panama, compiling a total of 26 scientifc articles from digital databases associated with the subject. Results. Entomotherapy encompasses the study of the medicinal use of insects and other arthropods in continents such as Africa, America, Asia, Europe andOceania. Although there are ample references to the use of insects and other arthropods for medical treatments within the traditions of various human groups, in Panama the information associated with this subject is very limited, despitebeing a diverse country both in culture and in species of arthropods, mainly insects. Conclusions. Twenty examples of arthropods used in...

Objective: To determine how the Activity Based Costing (ABC) method and its application work in determining the real cost of education at the National University of Chimborazo of the Republic of Ecuador. Method: The inductive method is used, at a descriptive - causal level. The survey was applied to obtain the information of a sample of 56 workers between teachers and administrators staff of a total population of 745 people. Results: The results show that the application of a cost-per-activity system reduces procedures and improves accounting of the activities related to management, teaching and research in an appropriate manner. It is an efficient model that can be applied in Higher Education Institutions. Conclusions: The Activity-Based Costs method (ABC) can be consider as an efficient model that allows to know the real costs of the academic services offered by the University and allo...

The paper we present is the result of a new method used in the classes of Accessible Translation in the Master of Professional Translation at the University of Granada. This subject belongs to the unit of Audiovisual Translation and Accessibility developed since 2014 when this Master started. Our main goal was to apply the modality of accessible translation into different tourist spaces and to innovate in the teaching of translation. The methodology was based on the application of socio-constructivist theories in Accessible Translation. Specifically, we were to teach how to prepare the audio descriptions for two architectural spaces: the façade of the Granada Cathedral and the façade of the Sagrario Church, also in Granada. The audio description of these two spaces was the ideal context (macro text) for the students to go beyond the classroom, and to experience firsthand the epistemolo...

The Geostatistics provides effective tools for the solution of many problems of engineering in which the location in the space of the variable under study is considered, based on definitions of mathematics that provide the necessary foundation for its application. In particular, the Geostatistics are applied in the spatial estimation of the recoverable reserves of mineral deposits. The geostatistical methods that are used in the estimation of mineral deposits are implemented in industrial software and consider the evaluation of the complex geological structure, but these softwares only display the obtained results with an input data and do not exhibit the concepts thatthey use during the process or the methodology of its application. This happens particularly with the Kriging method, which is based on the assumption of strict stationarity, taking into account changes in the mean and loca...

Present and future generations have a great concern about environmental issues such as the increase of contamination of natural resources and the loss of plant and animal life on earth due to excessive waste and its poor management, poor production practices and consumption habits. As a result of this concern, the main purpose of this research was to present the strategies and the framework that constitute the circular economy (CE) and to consider its application in Latin America. The methodology included a literature review using Scopus and Dialnet databases, applying the key terms “Circular Economy” and “Latin America”, the selection criteria were based on language, number of citations and publication date, which resulted in a statistical sample of 62 articles and reports. After completing the literature review of CE principal concepts, implementation strategies throughout diff...

There are as many merger control mechanisms as jurisdictions, each one of them with its own strength and particularities. Such variety can be used to analyze the effectiveness of such techniques, and evaluate their applications in a local scale. In this article, the author reviews some of the principal aspects in which merger control mechanisms differ. Subsequently, and based on the advantages or disadvantages that these mechanisms may show, the author analyzes the characteristics that a merger control mechanism should have for it the be implemented in Perú our country.

Nickel -based catalysts were prepared by impregnation and subsequent calcination at a concentration of 10 % by weight on the following substrates : clay , Ti02 , Si02 and Al 203 . These were reduced in a stream of 20 % hydrogen / nitrogen at a temperature of 350 ° C for 2 hours and were characterized by X-ray diffraction with activity measurements determined that the different supports affects performance . The increasing order of performance of the catalysts with different supports in oil hydrogenation process is as follows: clay > Ti02 > at 20 3> Si02 . Activity results show that the clay has a good performance in the hydrogenation process reaching iodine decrease of sunflower oil from 150 076 to the value of 56.77 to a temperature of 280 ° C

This article aims to provide alternatives that improve the regulatory methodology for measuring structural interest risk for economic value. To do this, the various existing models used to measure structural interest rate risk for economic value are explored, the different metrics resulting from these models are calculated for the fifteen banks of the Peruvian financial system, and the regulatory methodolo gy is compared with the methodology Value at Risk (for the calculation of economic capital for structural interest rate risk), both in results and in procedures, evaluating the possible shortcomings that can be found in the regulatory model, as well as the possible advantages that the Value at Risk methodology of Structural interest rate risk measurement for economic value. For this reason, alternatives for improving the regulatory methodology are proposed, which are based on the searc...

For a long time, J2EE has been the dominating framework for the development of business applications. This fact resulted in a rich ecosystem of tools, manuals, tutorials, etc. that explain different implementation alternatives or peculiarities. The incursion of .NET Framework in the business environment has generated a strong demand of application implementation under this architecture. However, the quantity and quality of documents available significantly differs from its main alternative (J2EE). This documentation gap is especially visible and worrying when the objective is to teach the concepts of Framework, from a teacher’s point of view, to the future graduates of the Information Systems Engineering program. This paper describes the teaching approach used in order to achieve the goal of having the students become familiar with this alternative framework and the usual model practi...

The present paper proposes critical reflections to the prevailing thesis of Peruvian doctrine that considers that pre-contractual liability is subsumed in the general clause of atypical extra-contractual liability. In addition, a Peruvian judgment is analyzed to demonstrate that it is possible to argue in future cases the existence of a pre-contractual obligation based on the category of “an obligation without benefit”, which emanates from objective good faith.
