Rindermann's cognitive capitalism disregards geographic causes of national wealth and postulates that IQ influences wealth through strengthened institutions, whereas a novel biogeographic theory posits that diminished UV radiation, by reducing cell oxidative stress and fatigue, increases industriousness and improves nations' wealth, thus generating favorable conditions for children's intellectual growth. This study tested predictions from both perspectives and also evaluated whether health + education mediates radiation's cognitive and economic effects. Analyses of data sets encompassing 96 countries yielded well-fitted structural equation models upholding the latter hypothesis and showing that radiation directly influences all variables, cognitive ability and income are unrelated, and the former and institutional strength behave as net dependent variables. The findings suggest that what...

Because of the growing pandemic of Corona Virus Disease-2019, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) must utilize electronic learning (e-learning). Today's work economy, which is forever in flux because of the creation of new jobs and the continual disappearance of old ones, necessitates an on-the-job shift. Despite HEIs in less-wealthy nations like some countries of Asia being developed countries, in essence, it is much more difficult for students and teachers at these higher learning institutions to deal with the transition to e-learning due to their tight financial restrictions. This study sought to determine whether learners at the start of the COVID-19 Era were ready for e-learning and a connection between demographic variables and readiness for e-learning. A quantitative survey obtained information from 1200 students from elite higher educational institutions in South East Asia. A ma...

Modern society is increasingly aware that innovation and entrepreneurship play a transcendental role in achieving a sustainable economy that ensures the social well-being and employability of young people, hence the importance of promoting them through the university curriculum. For this reason, it is of great interest to determine the impact that universities and their educational models are having on entrepreneur training, since they may not be addressing the necessary skills. In this sense, the current study sought to characterize the entrepreneurial training of academic programs in the humanities at higher education institutions in Mexico that are members of the National Network of Schools and Faculties of Philosophy, Letters, and Humanities, as well as the necessary competencies for graduates to engage in entrepreneurial activity. For the methodological design, we used a descriptive...

This theoretical-critical reflection addresses the issue of national scientific identity, focusing on the current crisis involving the National Superintendence of Higher University Education (SUNEDU, by its Spanish acronym), the Ministry of Education of Peru (MINEDU), and the Congress of the Republic of Peru. With the objective to understand the imbalance on stage and its consequences for university education, we analyze idiosyncrasies that jeopardize links of social responsibility, environmental concern, and scientific ethics. Drawing upon Bachelard (2005; 2000), Enaudeau (1999), La Boétie (1999), Bauman (1999), and Sánchez (2022a; 2022b; 2019; 2017), we propose dialogical interactions between governamental institutions and the science produced by Peruvian and Latin American public universities in general. This is facilitated through the exchange among study groups, research cores, an...

The present research raises a problem that, although it has deserved the attention of other researchers, maintains its validity due to the particularities that characterize the different educational institutions and the responsibility that they have towards their respective communities and their role in the National educative system. The various investigations on the subject report, according to their own results, the degree of link between PEI and school management, but, considering that each Educational Institution has its own reality, the study in question always sheds new light. Thus, in this study, results have been found that show contradictions in the conception of the PEI and whose impact on educational management leads to deficits in the quality of the educational service.

In order to provide a contextual frame to understand and to compare the experiences analyzed in this issue, this introductory text presents the situation indigenous youth is facing in higher education in Mexico and Peru. This contextual presentation has been shaped by our conviction that what has been achieved is a result of a larger process of indigenous struggles and claims, their translation into public policy and its implementation inside higher education institutions. Accordingly, this text introduces the cases of Mexico and Peru through two dimensions: the emergence of the specific claims, on the one hand, and the respective construction of intercultural higher education for indigenous people, on the other hand.

Although an extensive national and international bibliography has been produced to explain the success of educational management in the I.E. Fe y Alegría, the different approaches about it have omitted a historical analysis of the influence of the organizational development process on performative aspects, such as institutional performance. Considering this premise, the case of the I.E. Fe y Alegría N ° 02, with its experience, allows us to answer the following question: in what way did the transformations, that occurred in the organizational culture between the years 1980 and 2017, influence current institutional performance? The evidence shows that there is a complex process called «mythification of rules and profiles». This process, even though it has not yet been explored in depth in the literature, has repercussions on its institutional management system, legitimizes the taking...
