Nowadays spectrometers are useful in many applications such as bio-medical technology among other industrial fields. State of the art low-cost spectrometers are usually equipped with linear photoelectric array detectors (line detectors). This thesis covers part of the software development for a low-cost multichannel spectrometer using a matrix detector instead of a linear array detector. The image acquisition including an automatic integration time optimizer was implemented. Furthermore, algorithms for data extraction and calibration were developed. Finally, the multi-channel-system with the new software was compared with a high-resolution spectrometer and the results were discussed.

Sleepiness could cause different accidents at work and in our daily lives. Activities such as driving a car, handling heavy machinery, being in charge of controlling a satellite or monitoring a nuclear plant, are activities that require short visual and motor reaction times. Digital Image processing has been a research area of interest in the last decades, standing out for its applications in the analysis of diagnostic images and astronomical images. In this paper, we perform an overview of edge detection methods through finite-difference to present edge detection as a problem-based learning strategy for numerical differentiation, in order to improve the students’ skills in modeling and algorithmic thinking in numerical analysis courses. In the evaluation of terrestrial coverage by means of remote sensors, we find a variety of techniques dedicated to be able to register the terrestrial coverage, one of them is the use of optical satellite images also known as multispectral images, these images are formed by different bands of spectral that depend on the optical sensor of the observation satellite, among the known bands we have: Panchromatic, Red, Green, Blue, Near Infrared, among others. The design and optimization of space, as well as visual merchandising, are techniques that impact the sale new concepts such as omnicanality and buying experience are fed by data analytics in order to describe the commercial mode; and new qualitative sources of information, among them color theory, specially help to understand and predict the impact of future decisions on the point of sale. This paper describes the utility of image processing techniques to innovate the retail market in the effort to extract useful information from advertising pieces frequently used in this sector.

Digital Image Processing (DIP) books teach algorithms to digitally operate on images and include some figures to show the effects of those mathematical tools. In this report the creation of Imagery, a Virtual Laboratory for computer-assisted education (teaching and learning) of DIP is reported. Imagery can be used in the classroom, in the laboratory or at home. This software was developed to be used as a DIP laboratory, allowing the user to experiment with DIP algorithms, enabling him to see their effects on his own images. Este artículo presenta un nuevo marco de diseño y optimización para un flujo de procesamiento de imágenes impulsado por inteligencia artificial (IA), dedicado a cámaras inteligentes, que supera los principales desafíos relacionados con la eficiencia computacional, el consumo de energía y la flexibilidad. El flujo de trabajo propuesto integra modelos de aprendizaje profundo de última generación, como YOLOv5 y Faster R-CNN, junto con técnicas de optimización, incluyendo la cuantización y poda de modelos.
