An infant stimulation in mother-child relationship assessment scale (ISA Scale) was developed, based on a classification of probable effects on child's behavior, such as behavioral promotion stimulation (BPS) and behavioral control stimulation (BCS), refering to mother action level to promote desirable behaviors and to control socially non desirable behaviors in child's behavior repertory. 540 mother-child dyads were evaluated. The construct validity tests showed significant correlations in item analysis, between subescales along with child development measures (social maturity and aggressiveness). In addition significant correlations (p<.05) were identified in validity tests showing criteria. On the other hand, the reliability tests indicated high stability and internal consistency. During this work we verified the important influence this stimulation had on the psychological develop...

Objective: To validate an explanatory model of cognitive functioning in older adults, based on inhibitory control, working memory and processing speed. Method: Explanatory-correlational design. 128 people between 60 and 85 years of age were evaluated with working memory and processing speed tests of the WAIS-IV intelligence scale, Stroop Test and Neuropsi. Results: Two models of structural equation analysis were applied. In model 1, with the total sample, inhibitory control better explains the cognitive functioning in adults aged 60 to 85 years (β=0.22; p<0.538). Model 2, which included age as a control variable, divided the sample into two age groups, and found that processing speed best predicted cognitive functioning in adults aged 60-70 years (β=2.329; p=0.030). but no variable predicted cognitive functioning in adults aged 71 to 85 years. The second model showed better fitting ...

Background: The Alzheimer’s Disease Cooperative Study-Activities of Daily Living (ADCS-ADL) scale is a versatile functional assessment tool for patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). We evaluated its performance in controls, Peruvians with MCI or AD. Methods: A cross-sectional study of older adults attending a neurology institute in Lima (Peru) with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), AD or cognitively healthy. Test-retest reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient, ICC; internal consistency, Cronbach’s alpha) and validity were assessed. Results: We enrolled 276 individuals (AD: 113, MCI: 68, controls: 95) with no age, sex, educational level, and depressive symptom differences. Reliability was ideal (ICC: .996), and Cronbach’s alpha was adequate (.937). The ADCS-ADL could not differentiate MCI from controls but did differentiate AD severity. The ADCS-ADL correlated highly with...

The purpose of this study was to translate the Bedtime Procrastination Scale (BPS) into Spanish and to evaluate its psychometric properties. A sample of 419 students from three Peruvian universities participated in the study. Confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to evaluate the original model of the scale, which initially showed poor fit indices. Improved fit indices were obtained after removing reverse-scored item, χ²(5) = 9.240, CFI = .998, RMSEA = .045, TLI = .997, and SRMR = .013. The internal consistency of the scale, examined using the omega coefficient, was found to be satisfactory (ω = .86). Moreover, measurement invariance analysis supported gender invariance, indicating that the scale functions equivalently across male and female participants. Additionally, convergent validity was assessed by examining the correlations between the BPS and insomnia, as measured by the A...

An initial ground validation of the Integrated Multisatellite Retrievals for GPM (IMERG) Day-1 product from March 2014 to August 2015 is presented for the tropical Andes. IMERG was evaluated along with the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Multisatellite Precipitation Analysis (TMPA) against 302 quality-controlled rain gauges across Ecuador and Peru. Detection, quantitative estimation statistics, and probability distribution functions are calculated at different spatial (0.1°, 0.25°) and temporal (1 h, 3 h, daily) scales. Precipitation products are analyzed for hydrometeorologically distinct subregions. Results show that IMERG has a superior detection and quantitative rainfall intensity estimation ability than TMPA, particularly in the high Andes. Despite slightly weaker agreement of mean rainfall fields, IMERG shows better characterization of gauge observations when separatin...

The objective of this research was to examine how Technology Management as a Study variable applied to a Smart City Strategic Functional Unit (UEF) should be implemented in the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima (MML), to achieve that the solutions of smart city have a prospective vision and do not become obsolete in a short time. The sample consisted of 45 municipalities of the city of Lima, whose designated representatives were evaluated using a Likert scale questionnaire of their own authorship. The study has a qualitative approach, and due to its scope, it is descriptive, correlational and explanatory. The Study is considered prospective in nature because the responses of the officials who would lead future smart cities reflect the current perception of those surveyed, influenced by their experience and specialization, regarding the implementation of smart city UEF functions with Mana...

The relationship between executive functions (EF), creative personality, and academic performance in Argentine university students was examined. A total of 248 students (M = 22.97 years, SD = 4.43) from various Argentine provinces participated. The Adult Executive Functioning Inventory (ADEXI), the Cognitive Flexibility Scale, the Creative Behavior Scale (ECC), and the Creative Personality Scale (EPC) were used, along with academic performance data and sociodemographic information. Data were collected online through Google Forms and analyzed using Spearman correlations and mediation analysis with robust Maximum Likelihood estimator and Bootstrap. Cognitive flexibility exhibited the most robust correlation with grade point average (r = .281, p < .001), followed by working memory difficulties (r = -.234, p < .001). Creative personality correlated positively with grade point average (...

Introduction: Preoperative risk stratification in older adults is a key component for reducing postoperative morbidity and mortality, given the high prevalence of comorbidities, frailty, and functional impairment in this population. However, commonly used risk assessment tools show limited predictive performance when applied to geriatric patients. Objective: To validate a preoperative assessment scale for predicting postoperative morbidity and mortality in older adults undergoing surgical procedures. Material and Methods: An analytical case-control study nested within a cohort of patients aged 65 years and older undergoing surgery was conducted. The scale was developed using clinical, functional, and laboratory variables selected through logistic regression analysis. Predictive performance was assessed using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, along with sensitivity, specific...

The objective of the research was to demonstrate that evidence-based learning as a didactic strategy influences the production of functional texts in university students. For this, the following methodology was used: quantitative approach, experimental level, quasi-experimental design. For data collection, the observation and survey technique was used: the instrument used was the rubric —differential semantic scale—, and knowledge test —measures the intellectual part—. To express the data, visual representations, tables and figures were used, obtained through the SPSS v.26 software. The statistical results allowed us to test the hypothesis through the Mann-Whitney U, indicating that the experimental group presents a better result in relation to the control group. In conclusion, evidence-based learning is an advantage for the development of the production of functional texts.

Nomophobia understood as fear of not being able to contact or make use of a smartphone, irrational fear of losing it, running out of batteries or being without an internet signal, which generates high rates of anxiety.  The consumer behaviors of this virtual society lead to the postponement of personal, academic and work objectives because more time is spent performing online activities, which turn out to be more attractive and less complex.   The main objective of this research has been to determine the factorial structure, validity and reliability of the Nomophobia Scale (NMPQ).  300 students participated in a State University of Metropolitan Lima. The confirmatory factor analysis corroborated a structure of four factors, showing adequate adjustment indicators composed of CFI= .997, TLI= 0.997 and RMSEA= 0.084. confirming a second-order model, plus a first-order model. Cronbach's a...

The field of autonomous driving has been evolving rapidly within the last few years and a lot of research has been dedicated towards the control of autonomous vehicles, especially car-like ones. Due to the recent successes of artificial intelligence techniques, even more complex problems can be solved, such as the control of autonomous multibody vehicles. Multibody vehicles can accomplish transportation tasks in a faster and cheaper way compared to multiple individual mobile vehicles or robots. But even for a human, driving a truck-trailer is a challenging task. This is because of the complex structure of the vehicle and the maneuvers that it has to perform, such as reverse parking to a loading dock. In addition, the detailed technical solution for an autonomous truck is challenging and even though many single-domain solutions are available, e.g. for pathplanning, no holistic framework e...
