Background: Disorders of gut–brain interaction (DGBI) are multifactorial. Early-life events are proposed as factors involved in their etiopathogenesis. The relationship between mode of delivery, prematurity, and DGBI development remains unclear. This study examines whether cesarean delivery and prematurity contribute to early childhood DGBI. Methods: Caregivers of children aged 1 month to 4 years from four Colombian cities participated in a cross-sectional study. Pediatricians completed the Spanish-validated Questionnaire of Pediatric Gastrointestinal Symptoms Rome IV (QPGS-IV). Data of children born by cesarean delivery and prematurity were compared with controls. Categorical data were analyzed using Fisher’s exact test, and odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results: DGBIs were identified in 26.6% of children, with functional constipation (FC) being the most pre...

The development of Internet of Things (IoT) applications for creating behavioural and physiological monitoring methods, such as an IoT-based student healthcare monitoring system, has been accelerated by advances in sensor technology. Today, there are an increasing number of students living alone whoare dispersed across large geographic areas, therefore it is important to monitor their health and function. This research propose novel technique in high performance modelling for health monitoring system by 5G network based machine learning analysis. Here the input is collected as EEG brain waves which are monitored and collected through 5G networks. This input EEG waves has been processed and obtained as fragments and noise removal is carried out. The processed EEG wave fragments has been extracted using K-adaptive reinforcement learning. this extracted features has been classified using na...

The purpose of this paper is to provide a theoretical approach to the notion of political counter-narrative. Given the novelty of this narrative technique, its causes are first addressed: moral absolutism, affective polarization, informational chaos, uncertainty, and digital tribalism. Then, the counter-narrative is defined as a semantic structure that, regardless of temporality, seeks to destroy the symbolic capital of the adversary. Subsequently, its main features –reactivity, negativity, emotiveness, stereotyping, and permanence– are detailed, as are its functions –linking wills through opposition, drawing clear identity boundaries, being emotionally rewarding, and simplifying reality–. In closing, a review of the main findings is provided, and various lines of research are proposed, such as observing the resonance and application of this technique by citizens and the possibil...

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is considered a neurodevelopmental disorder, whose prevalence has increased in recent years, showing in some cases deficits in the cognitive area, with processing speed (PS) being one of the affected variables. Therefore, the present study aims to: 1) compare the scores obtained in relation to the PS variable between students aged 6 to 11 with ASD and their peers with neurotypical development in Metropolitan Lima; and 2) establish the PS profile of the included students with ASD. For this, 30 children aged 6 to 11 attending to regular basic education institutions (RBE) in Metropolitan Lima were sampled, 15 with neurotypical development and 15 included with ASD. For the first objective, a case-control design (CCD) was used, while the second objective was a selective non-probabilistic cross-sectional design. Results showed a lower performance by the group wit...

Neural self-organization is an innate feature of the brains of mammals and it isvery necessary for their operation. The most known artificial neural network models that use this characteristic are the Self-Organized Maps (SOM) and the Adaptive Resonance Theory (ART), but these models do not take the neuron as a processing unit, as it’s biological counterpart does; besides these are models mostlyused for the unsupervised learning paradigm, this means that there aren’t robustself-organized models in the supervised learning paradigm. In other way, influence value reinforcement learning paradigm, used in multi-agent systems, prove thatagents can communicate among them, and can self-organize themselves to assigntasks, without interference.Motivated by the lack of features in the artificial neural networks, and taking intoaccount the influence values reinforcement algorithm, a new neural n...
