The article discusses the social forms which sexuality and love are experienced in Lima, in dialogues with the specialized literature, especially with the last work’s peruvian sociologist Pedro Pablo Ccopa (2011). New interpretations are presented -from a sociological view- on the phenomena of sex in hostels and hotels; and about reggaeton/’perreo’ as modern dance and sexual simulation. The author concludes that: i) it’s necessary to adequate delimitations about studied society in order to better understand the phenomenon as well as a possible generalization; ii) the new social forms without commitment —‘choque y fuga’, perreo, ‘friends with rights’, remember— are basically sexual forms, not love forms; iii) so, sexual forms do not critic the idea of love in contemporary world (romantic love); iv) it’s not a liberalization of Eros, instead, it’s an agony.

This article analyses religious and spiritual coping of negative and stressful events such as the loss of a loved one. The study case of a religious catholic woman who lost a loved one is part of my Docthoral Thesis (an exploratory and descriptive study done with religious persons of different creeds), where it was verified that prayers, meditation, spiritual healing, funerary rituals and social support promote positive effects and physical, psychological, mental and spiritual well- being of religious people who mourn the loss of a loved one.

The movie El castillo de la pureza, by Arturo Ripstein (1972), is based on a real event that took place in Mexico City in 1959. The objective of the article is to describe the context of the event, inscribed in the police annals of the Mexican Capital and how such a sordid story (according to our perspective) could be adapted to the screen as a “love story”, highlighting the work of the screenwriter José Emilio Pacheco (JEP). A first reading of the film shows us the confinement of a family (forced by the father) and that the isolation from the outside world is accepted by the wife as an almost divine plan of the one who loves and respects blindly. Our intention is to deepen this view by offering an analysis of the information from the press of the time, from excerpts from the script, as well as scenes from the film and the frames corresponding to the chosen sequence that I have named...

This work investigates the fundamental contribution of interpersonal relationships in the configuration of personal identity, based on the consideration of the person as an essentially open and relational being, and of the body as a symbolic reality of the human vocation to love. Understanding that personal identity consists of the self-representation of oneself as a singular being and in homogeneity with others, and identifying through continuous changes and decisions as a being called to love, its achievement will require a gradual process that encompasses its entire existence. The identity stages through which it progresses - affiliation, nuptiality, paternity - require the acquisition of certain developmental capacities that provide the experience of welcoming and giving, essential elements of love. In the continuum of interpersonal relationships in which the person will be immersed ...

This research aims to inquire about the role attributed to love in the construction of the identity of a cynical subject through the analysis of dialogue and body language. For this, the Spanish series What a sad life is analyzed, an audiovisual production that was transmitted, first, by the YouTube video platform and then by television between 2005 and 2010. This series is analyzed in the light of the philosophical approaches of Peter Sloterdijk, Alain Badiou and Slavoj Žižek, as well as the psychoanalytic theory of Jacques Lacan. The conclusions that are reached show us that the series states that the cynical subject, to be one, must give up a «real» encounter with the other, since he lives in self-absorption in search of his own enjoyment and he sees other people as mere instruments. However, the series also states that there is a way to break the isolation of the cynical subject:...

Among the letters preserved in the archive of the indigenous Salinas Grandes settlement, a love letter was found. This letter had immediately a didactic, and mediately an exemplary function, like the others in the notebook that it was part of, which gives these letters an outstanding cultural value, since it deals not only with the mere use of writing, but also with the efforts of the indigenous society to ensure its preservation in the future. The love letter is an effect of the introduction of writing into the indigenous society and gives us access to profound transformation processes that were taking place within the Pampas and Patagonian societies at the time of the military conquest.

In recent years, couples have been affected by health measures related to COVID-19, a circumstance that forces us to examine couple interactions in terms of crucial variables of their functioning. In this sense, the present study aimed to examine the association between love, jealousy, satisfaction, and violence in young couples through network analysis. A total of 834 young people and adults between 18 and 38 years of age (Mean = 20.97, SD = 2.39) participated; 646 women (77.50%) and 188 men (22.50%), who completed the Sternberg’s love scale (STLS-R), Brief Jealousy Scale (BJS), Relationship Assessment Scale (RAS) and Woman Abuse Screening Tool (WAST-2). A partial unregularized network was estimated using the ggmModSelect function. The Bridge Strength index was calculated because the aim was to identify the bridge nodes between the variables under study. The results reveal that two no...

Objective. To elucidate the traits of the characters (seductive animal and deceived maiden) and the symbolic meaning they represent within the imagination of the runa, based on a series of oral narratives known as "the animals in love." This exploration is grounded in the principles of relationality, specifically complementarity. Methodology. An interpretative analysis was conducted on a narrative collected in the province of Dos de Mayo, Huánuco (Peru). Results. Romantic relationships between a human and an animal fail due to their asymmetrical nature, which contradicts the concept of complementarity or yanantin (a fundamental condition for forming couples in the Andean context). Allegorically, it depicts a runa paired with a mana-runa, signifying the union of an ayllu (community) member with one who does not share or harmonize with the same ideological and ethical principles of the co...
