One of the major global problems that is affecting society and particularly the lower social strata is related to the environment and climate change. Extraído de los primer párrafo del artículo: The second edition of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) Latin America Microwave Conference (LAMC) was held in Arequipa, Peru, over the second week of December 2018. It was organized by the MTT-S Peru Chapter in Arequipa, Peru (The first edition of LAMC took place 12–14 December 2016, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and was a great success.) Following official approval in 2015 of LAMC as a biannual MTT-S conference, there were several strategic activities developed in Region 9, such as the creation of new MTT-S Chapters and the organization of several Distinguished Microwave Lecturers (DMLs) visits. Those activities were key to the successful organization of this conference.

En los estudios de calidad en interpretación, se ha discutido ampliamente qué significa calidad y quién la debe evaluar. Generalmente, las investigaciones se han centrado en las perspectivas de los destinatarios y de los intérpretes como evaluadores, pero pocos han considerado ambas perspectivas en simultáneo. Este estudio busca determinar cómo coinciden o se diferencian las valoraciones de calidad de los destinatarios y de los intérpretes mediante el análisis de un conjunto de criterios de calidad valorados en el contexto de interpretación simultánea de conferencias en Lima, Perú. Wealthy nations must step up support for Africa and vulnerable countries in addressing past, present and future impacts of climate change The 2022 report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) paints a dark picture of the future of life on earth, characterised by ecosystem collapse, species extinction, and climate hazards such as heatwaves and floods (1). These are all linked to physical and mental health problems, with direct and indirect consequences of increased morbidity and mortality. To avoid these catastrophic health effects across all regions of the globe, there is broad agreement—as 231 health journals argued together in 2021—that the rise in global temperature must be limited to less than 1.5oC compared with pre-industrial levels.

The historical account of the International Conference on Primary Health Care of Alma-Ata (Soviet Union) WHO/UNICEF, the most important international health policy event in the early 70’s that marked a milestone in public health in the world, is presented. It was attended by 134 countries, 67 international organizations and many non-governmental organizations. Unfortunately, China was the big absentee. At the end of the historical account, the Declaration of Alma-Ata 1978 is presented.

During the Aristocratic Republic, one of the most representative intellectual figures was Abraham Valdelomar (1888-1919). He had a short but intense life developing multiple activities: academic, journalistic, even political. A little-known area was his work as a lecturer at the civic, artistic, and cultural events he organized to gain a deeper understanding of Peru and pedagogically propagate his political and intellectual project, seeking to contribute to the redefinition of the Peruvian identity question and the democratization of the nation-state during his travels across the country between 1918 and 1919. Private international law in the Americas was successfully and consistently developed in recent decades through the Inter-American Specialized Conferences, an organ of the Organization of American States, and whose starting point was CIDIP-I, held 50 years ago, in 1975. The last Conference was convened 15 years ago, which might show a certain paralysis of the codification process.
