This article explores the uses of emotion in activist research inspired by the direct action of Black mothers against racial violence in Afro Diasporic communities. The outrage they feel due to the missing body at home taken by violence, empower them to voice the aggressions that permeate their families and the black communities by direct violence, oppression and terror in their lives through the intersection of race, gender, space. Ethnographic research in collaboration with these mothers since 2010 points to the necessity of new approaches to Anthropology in order to understand the complexity of their luta [struggle]. Therefore, this article advocates for an Outraged Anthropology, an anthropology that recognizes emotions as an expression of a person or group of people’s position in an unjust structure of power; and recognizes the mechanisms in which the person/group deal...

This exploratory article analyzes in a qualitatively way clothing trajectories of people who inhabit non-hegemonic bodies and participate in spaces of feminist activism. A series of interviews were carried out with the objective of knowing first-hand experiences in which clothing is used as a tool to actively raise transgressive messages that claim their identities. During the interviews we could also understand how subjectivities are configured on the margins of a society like Peru, where getting dressed responds to tacit and strict rules and fashion is ad-dressed to hegemonic bodies that also fit binarism.

New business practices are mainly characteristic of large firms especially those quoted on the stock market. Listed companies show a higher commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices because capital markets allow activists to become a firm's socially oriented shareholders. These actors although small in number have a significant influence over other larger block-holders. Recent decades have witnessed a significant increase in societal pressure to control the behavior of companies owing to the risks deriving from the economic social and environmental effects of their business activity. The aim of this work is to test the effect that CSR activist shareholders have on the decision to disclose corporate social responsibility information in the Spanish context controlling for the rest of the dimensions in Ullmann's theoretical framework.

Discourses on the aging of older women have focused on the problems and difficulties they face, omitting the recognition of their resources and potential. This research reports the results of a research that rescues the meanings of aging of women activists of the Agrupación Bordadoras por la Memoria —embroiderers’ group for memory—, in Chile. From feminist gerontology and narrative perspective, we produce patchwork narratives that offer new versions of being older. The results show the emergence of narratives on pandemic old age, gender distinctions, the wisdom acquired at this stage, and their experience of aging from political action, questioning the characteristics with which old women are traditionally described. It is concluded that the exercise of construction and questioning that the participants carry out in front of their own old age from their associative experience, all...

This article is an approximation to the analysis of the transit from electoral communication to government communication, a period that is usually addressed as two differentiated dimensions, but which can be enhanced to contribute to the governments’ legitimacy and their relationship with citizens (information activists). After measuring university students and professionals’ electoral preferences in Lima, we conclude that the articulation of electoral and government communication consists not only in recognizing the expectations of these citizens, widely expressed during political campaigns, but also in consolidating dialogue channels during the government administration.

From a detected ethical problem, appropriate ethical responses must arise. The extractive export model constitutes one of those ethical problems present in the Amazon, which is countered by the actions of upstanding individuals, ethical role models who awaken pathos and internalize the suffering of the land, the communities, and the planet. These everyday people show us another possible path—the path of Jesus, based on mercy and care, as the fundamental criterion that ethically defines the human being.

In this paper we discuss the active learning approach that has been spread in university classrooms in relation to its pedagogical predecessors, particularly the New European School movement and the American Progressive Education. This relationship allows us to understand the array of teaching-learning methods used today at university under a historical perspective, including differences with its predecessors. Particularly, we will discuss the difference between active methods and the more general concept of active pedagogy, which implies an educational philosophy more radically centered on the students. This enables us to outline possible evolution lines in the practice of active pedagogy at university.

The aim of this study was to observe the relationship between the intention to be physically active and the after-school physical activity among 408 schoolchildren. The Previous Day Physical Activity Recall (PDPAR) was administered to measure physical activity, while the Intention to be Physically Active Scale (MIFA) was administered to measure the intention to be physically active. The results showed a significant association between the intention to be active and the average time involved in after-school physical activity from moderate to vigorous intensity in males and females. Physical activity levels increase as the intention to be active increases.

This article analyzes the relationship between the globalization crisis, the end of the political cycle and new activisms in Argentina. It argues that the internationalization of the effects of the 2008 crisis failed the attempt by the Argentine government of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner (2012-2015) to implement its new development model, thus paving the way for the triumph of a center-right alliance in the country. The article describes how, even in an adverse context, feminist activism emerged in Argentina, led by the Ni Una Menos movement, and discusses its use of the strike repertoire, emphasizing innovative elements in the appropriation of this classist tool of struggle. Finally, it points out the possibilities and limits of the movement, suggesting questions for future research.

In our country, within the framework of the application of Legislative Decree 1044, the State’s business activity may constitute an act of unfair competition in the modality of violation of rules, provided that this activity of the State has not been developed as established in Article 60 of our Constitution. INDECOPI, through its various pronouncements, has developed criteria to address this problem. For this reason, this essay aims to assess whether the criteria determined by this administrative authority is sufficient to understand the activities of the State within our legal system. To do this, we will focus on the first level of analysis of this issue, which consists of the distinction of economic (business) and non-economic activities of the State, the latter being the target for criticism and an approach to solution, to obtaining a clearer path of participation from publi...
