The following article presents the results obtained from the ethnographic case study conducted in the locality of Piedracava in 2022, focusing on the transformations in the stonemason craft following the arrival of large companies to the region. It has been observed that the presence of the quarrying industry, to which these companies belong, has generated conflicts between traditional workers and those associated with the industry, due to differences in extraction techniques and the recognition of professional skills. The introduction of a capitalist mode of production has transformed the organizational structure of the stonemasonry craft and has significantly impacted the local economy, as industrial techniques and demands have been prioritized. This article presents the inventory and analysis of two types of glyptographic expressions present in the temple Santa Ana of Yauri, capital city of Espinar province, Cusco: Masons’ marks and cruciform signs. The function of the marks is well determined as identification and accounting signs of the ashlars delivered by different stonecutters. The presence of the crosses is more intriguing because they do not seem to have an apotropaic function, and may rather be related to devotional expressions. It is evident that the Masons’ marks are older than the crosses and would have been engraved between the 17th and 18th centuries, during the construction of the original church, on whose remains the current building was built in the second half of the 19th century. The city of Arequipa, was honored by UNESCO as Cultural World Heritage in November 2000, in consideration of the buildings that make up the Cercado in its old neighborhoods, defined as Monumental Zone and categorized as: Religious monuments, military monuments, public monuments and domestic monuments. All of them share an element that was already used in buildings constructed by andinas societies before the arrival of the conquerors, the sillar. In this article we will see the main input of the buildings that for over 500 years is continuing to be used, acting as a key element of regional identity, and the proposal to put a value to the quarries of sillar, with a touristic thematic route that has been implemented.

Gestionar la CTI (i.e. Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación) entraña un alto nivel de complejidad y relevancia económica y social para un país como para dejarla librada a la improvisación. Retail trade represents an important source of employment and its establishments are preferred spaces for the supply of Mexican families. However, the sanitary measures implemented have led to working conditions that show differences among them, and for this reason the objective of this study was to analyze how inequality in working conditions in traditional and modern retail trade occurs, through a qualitative study based on a narrative review of the literature. Among the results, the actions implemented by traditional and modern retailers to cope with the temporary closure of their commercial establishments, as well as disparities in their operation, stand out. The conclusion is the need to continue reflecting on commercial, labor and social practices influenced by the capital-labor relationship that go beyond individual and family control.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the effects that recent health reforms adopted in Spain because of the economic crisis have had on the National Health System. It is not only a matter of mere budgetary cuts or measures of saving in the public expense. Reforms are looking for the efficiency and financial sustainability of health care services. However, a «mutation» in the public service has taken place. Reforms have affected the basic principles of the public system: the insurance model, its universality, the financing of the system and the principles of equity and cohesion of the public service.

Managing STI (i.e. Science, Technology and Innovation) involves a high level of complexity and economic and social relevance for a country to leave it open to improvisation. The successive CTI plans formulated in Argentina from 1998 to 2023 seem to reflect this idea. The objective of this work is to analyze the four state planning processes of STI, focusing on achievements, gaps between planned and the future challenges and invariances of STI planning in Argentina. The study is an explanatory, quantitative and empirical study, involving four case studies, supplemented by primary and secondary sources of a quantitative nature. The analysis of the plans will show an evolutionary process of state planning capacity, not free from gaps, continuities and future challenges of the evolutionary path of STI in Argentina.

This article reflects on the interculturality of the human right to peace in Mexico to recognize how the encounter between cultures is fostered where economic, cultural and social elements are exchanged, highlighting that conflicts can arise and derive in violence transgressing peace. The proposal of real law is described, which uses the intercultural method to consider the customary law of native peoples, their traditional principles, as well as their cosmovisions and build peaceful environments.
