The purpose of this paper is to analyze the culture of the body in gymnasiums. It suggests that if these spaces were, before, the redoubt of boxers and of body-builders, who sought to build strong and muscular bodies for physical competition, today they are used to build the post modern performative self. In this way, they propose new technology, practices, norms and knowledges that leave not much space for individual agency. Thus, the body that is attained within the context of the fitness culture is not a metaphor of the machine, or of the conscience’s tool, which requires discipline and training, it isn’t even the mediator of an inner being. The individual who follows the fitness culture is one who performs to keep performing. His fate is constant movement in order to respond constantly and in a flexible way to the changing commands of post-modernity.

Our goal in this discussion is to map out a scientifically legitimate and practical path towardinternationalizing the social psychology curriculum. Toward developing an appropriate con- ceptual framework, we distinguish between the study of two different types of performance: performance capacity, how well isolated individuals can perform tasks as determined by their physical characteristics, and performance style, the way things are done through collab- orative meaning making. Whereas performance capacity can be explained causally, performance style is best explained through normative accounts. Social psychology has largely approached questions of performance style by applying a reductionist and causal framework. We highlight the alternative approach reflected in the cultural-narrative turn and identify sub-research areas that need to be strengthened in order to internationalize...

The present research work had as a general objective to determine the relation that exists between, the teaching performance, the academic management and the academic performance of the students enrolled in the courses of the highest index of disapproved in this faculty. We used a non-experimental, cross-correlational, design using a population of 1983 students extracted from 104 records that compose the courses with the highest index of disapprovals, was diagnosed with an optimal random sample of 95 students of that population, based on the proportion of students disapproved of as success, which is shown by 65% of students disapproved as an average proportion. The validation of the instruments was of constructs, using the factorial analysis with correlations of 0.60 to 0.90, the reliability of the instruments with Cronbach alpha, for the academic management was of 0.934 and for the educ...

The school performance study of students is, due to its relevance and complexity, one of the issues of major controversy in the educational research, and it has been given special attention in the last decades. This study is intended to show a conceptual approach to the school performance construct, contextualizing the reality in the regular basic education classrooms. The construct of learning approaches is presented as one of the factors that influences the school performance of students. Besides, an outlook of the empirical research works related to variables that are presented as relevant when explaining the reason for a specific performance in students is shown. Finally, some models and techniques allowing an appropriate study of school performance are presented.

The purpose of the study has been to differentiate the importance of the high-performance work systems (HPWS) effects, for dimensions, in the performance of sales representatives of pharmaceutical companies in Chiclayo having affective commitment and human capital as mediation variables. HPWS have a significant effect on development through human capital, but not with affective commitment. However, there are HPWS’ subdimensions that affect development through the “motivational path” (training, performance assessment and empowerment practices) which also affect in a considerable way through human capital. An activity that also affects performance through human capital significantly is the compensations and incentives one.

This scientific study is carried out with the purpose of analyzing whether there is a relationship between teaching performance and the academic performance of the student at the FCA-UNMSM School of Tourism Administration. A non-experimental design with a quantitative approach was used. 100 students with active enrollment in the fourth cycle participated, to whom a survey was applied to measure the teaching performance variable and a checklist to collect information on final averages. After descriptive and inferential statistical analysis, we concluded the existence of a direct and positive relationship between teaching performance and academic performance. These instruments were duly validated through expert judgment and their reliability was determined using Cronbach's Alpha test. To contrast hypotheses, Spearman's correlation coefficient was used. The result indicates that there is a ...

This article addresses the case model for the Live art exhibition project Venice International Performance Art Week, founded and curated by artist duo VestAndPage (Verena Stenke and Andrea Pagnes) in 2012. Since its inception, it has promoted performance art and Live art practices on a local, national, and international scale through live performance events, exhibitions, formative learning programs, and co-creation experiences. Founded on the principles of sustainability, hospitality, and care, it has become a recognized international platform where dialogue and exchange, artistic expressions and cultures can flourish proactively among performers. The project formats have evolved over the time, progressively focusing on forming temporary performance artist communities in terms of a social sculpture. Its core mission is to foster exchange among performers, Live artists, and peop...

The objective of the present research work was to design a teaching performance evaluation model based on the domain Preparation for student learning within the Framework for Teacher Good Performance. The study is based on an applied-projective method, with a qualitative educational approach. The instrument was applied to 94 teachers and 6 managers from 4 public educational institutions. The results show low levels of performance related to the preparation of learning and discontinuity of the purposes in the evaluation process, thus concluding with the development of a teaching evaluation model that integrates a new way of evaluation, from the perspective of teacher reflection and improvement of his performance.

This study is one of the first empirical studies on intellectual capital (IC) in South American textile exporting companies. Using the resources and capabilities approach, we examine how certain intangibles can provide competitive advantages. We propose and test a model capturing the relationships between IC components and export performance (EP), as well as the various interrelationships among the different dimensions of IC. Using a sample of textile manufacturers operating in Peru, an emerging economy, we find that both human capital and structural capital have a significantly positive influence on EP. However, the data analysis does not confirm that relational capital has any positive influence on export performance.

Two out of every three jobs in Peru are generated in the self-employment and household microenterprises. This study uses the «Self-employment Income» module in non-agricultural household enterprises in the Peruvian National Household Surveys, between 2002 and 2006, and estimates an array of empirical models aimed at explaining differences in levels and growth rates of real incomes in these endeavours. There is a set of robust results from complementary methodologies. First of all, labour experience and educational attainment of the entrepreneur have positive impacts on real income. Likewise, business legal registration and functioning in a fixed location are also important factors for the sustainability of the microenterprises over time.

This text aims to problematize the possible ways of archiving and historicizing performing practices. For this purpose, it approaches the art works TODO, la imposibilidad de vaciar (2019) and TODO Performance (2021), directed by the performing artist Laura Valencia (La Plata, Argentina), where the collection of stage objects that the director has used and treasured during twenty-five years are activated. From a critical perspective of history (Scott, 2001) and affects (Ahmed, 2015), the artist's experience is taken as the main source and reflects on the power of art as an archive (Guasch, 2005), the idea of poetics of the rest (López, 2018), and the anachronistic images (Didi-Huberman, 2011) that are suggested on stage to consider those scenic objects as objects-remains and their uses in the works as memory exercises. Therefore, the idea of performing arts archive as repertoire of survi...
