RESUMEN El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo encontrar el grado de correlación entre la variable depresión y la variable sentido de vida en alumnos de una institución educativa nacional de la ciudad de Trujillo. Para llevar a cabo esta investigación se trabajó con una muestra de 250 adolescentes cuyas edades oscilaban entre los 14 y 16 años pertenecientes a una institución nacional de la ciudad de Trujillo, a dichos sujetos se les aplicó dos instrumentos, el Cuestionario de Depresión Infantil de María Kovacs y el Logotest de Elizabeth Lukas para medir sentido de vida. Por otro lado la investigación demuestra que existe una correlación inversa altamente significativa de grado medio entre las variables de depresión y sentido de vida alcanzando un índice de correlación de Spearman de -0.456, lo que quiere decir que al aumentar el índice de depresión en estudiantes con características similares a la de esta muestra, el nivel de sentido de vida será menor. This research was worked with a sample of 250 teenagers aged between 14 and 16 years belonging to a national institution in the city of Trujillo, who were applied two instruments, the Children's Depression Inventory (CDI) by Maria Kovacs and Elizabeth Lukas’ Logotest to measure sense of life. On the other hand, the research shows that there is a highly significant inverse correlation of medium grade between the variables of depression and sense of life reaching a Spearman correlation index off -0456, which means that increasing the rate of depression in students similar to this sample, the level of sense of life will be less.
