description Manchay, ubicado en la periferia de la ciudad de Lima, es una zona que ha afrontado un crecimiento informal y vertiginoso desde su creación. En este contexto desventajoso, gran parte de su población presenta rezago educativo lo que ha perjudicado su desarrollo personal y el de la localidad, a este problema se le suma la carencia de equipamientos educativos complementarios en la zona. Situación que dificulta el correcto desarrollo de la comunidad en general. En consecuencia, se decidió plantear una nueva tipología de centro educativo que integra y afronta temas relevantes en la zona como, educación inconclusa, educación técnica, emprendimiento y actividades comunitarias. El proyecto plantea estrategias para relacionarse con su contexto y pueda ser apropiado por la población. La intención principal es que el Centro de Educación Integrada Manchay (CEIM) se perciba como un espacio accesible y de integración para la comunidad. Esto se logra a través del tratamiento del espacio intermedio, tanto en el exterior como en el interior de la edificación, de forma que este permita ser una plataforma de diferentes actividades y genere sinergias entre distintos usuarios. Además, el proyecto logra que estas situaciones de congregación y encuentro no interfieran con las actividades programadas de cada sector. De modo que se enriquezca la experiencia educativa y se fortalezca el vínculo de la comunidad con el CEIM.

In this disadvantageous context, a large part of its population has an educational backwardness that has impaired their personal development and that of the locality. To this problem is added the lack of complementary educational facilities in the area. Situation that hinders the correct development of the community in general. Consequently, it was decided to propose a new type of educational center that integrates and addresses relevant issues in the area such as unfinished education, technical education, entrepreneurship and community activities. The project proposes strategies to relate to its context and may be appropriate for the population. The main intention is that the Manchay Integrated Education Center (CEIM) is perceived as an accessible and integrating space for the community. This is achieved through the treatment of the “in between” spaces, both outside and inside the building, so that it can be a platform for different activities and generate synergies between different users. In addition, the project achieves that these situations of congregation and meeting do not interfere with the programmed activities of each sector.
