Descripción
Sumario:Introduction. During the times of a pandemic, the mathematics teacher changed his methodology and didactics to accommodate virtual classes; however, this change has not taken into account the way students learn, who have their own learning style. Due to this, the student has shown demotivation and even withdrawal from the course or career. Objective. Determine the learning styles of the first cycle students of the mathematics for architecture course, according to the David Kolb model. Materials and methods. The research was descriptive, and it was carried out on the population of 68 students in the second semester of 2021, to whom the Kolb learning styles test was applied on the first day of class. Results. The assimilating style predominates with 74%, then convergent with 16%, divergent with 8%, and accommodating with 2%. Conclusion. Knowing the learning styles of the students can favor the teacher to prepare their classes, change the methodology of it and look for new strategies that allow to increase the motivation of the students.
