description Los primates neotropicales son un parvorden compuesto por las familias Cebidae, Pitheciidae, Aotidae y Atelidae. Estómago e intestinos poseen características ultrasonográficas similares a la de otros primates. Los riñones son alargados o triangulares, en Callithrix jaccus hay poca diferenciación córtico-medular a diferencia de otras especies. El bazo es fusiforme de parénquima homogéneo, granularidad fina y densa. Hígado de ecogenicidad definida, ecotextura homogénea, granularidad fina a media, menos en Callithrix jacchus. Relación de ecogenicidad entre corteza renal, hígado y bazo varía entre especies.
