description La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la Inteligencia Emocional y Autoestima de los Estudiantes del Primer y Segundo año de Secundaria de la Institución Educativa San Jerónimo de Pativilca, 2017.La metodología de la investigación, nivel y tipo correlaciónal, cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental de corte transversal, empleando un muestreo probabilístico estratificado. Se evaluó a un total de 126 estudiantes, se aplicó el Test de Inteligencia Emocional de Ice Barón, adaptado al Perú por Nelly, Ugarriza Chávez y Liz, Pajares del Águila en el año 2004, este test está conformado por cinco componentes: Interpersonal, Intrapersonal, Estado de Animo, Adaptabilidad, y Manejo de Estrés y el test de Autoestima adaptado y revisado en el año 2003 por César, Ruiz Alva. Los resultados fueron que si existe relación entre las variables de inteligencia emocional y autoestima. Los componentes de la Inteligencia Emocional obtienen un nivel promedio, con respecto a la relación de los componentes con la Autoestima los resultados fueron, que Los componentes Intrapersonal, Manejo de Estrés y Adaptabilidad existe relación con la autoestima. Mientras el componente Interpersonal y Estado de Animo no existe relación con la autoestima.
