Los datos recolectados fueron procesados de manera automatizada en el programa estadístico SPSS Statistics 22.0 (IBM, Armonk, NY, USA). Los resultados muestran que los últimos seis años la producción total de tesis fue de 368; el año 2015 fue el año de mayor producción con 88 tesis, el área de estudio donde más se ejecutaron fueron las Universidades con 128 tesis, la especialidad odontológica más abordada fue Ortodoncia con 73 tesis; el tipo de investigación más utilizado fue el Observacional (66.85 %), transversal (76.90%), prospectivo (86.14 %) y descriptivo (52.99 %); el diseño de investigación más utilizado fue observacional con 251 tesis; el método de recolección de datos más utilizado fue la observación con 295 tesis; el análisis estadístico más empleado fue el inferencia no paramétrico con 181 tesis. La localidad donde más se desarrollaron las tesis fue el departamento de La Libertad con 358 tesis; la población más estudiada fueron los estudiantes y cirujanos dentistas con 71 tesis. Las consideraciones éticas están presentes en 73.37 % de los trabajos.

This prospective, transversal, descriptive and observational study was conducted in an environments provided by the Faculty of Stomatology of the Private University Antenor Orrego (UPAO) in the city of Trujillo, where it was selected a total of 368 thesis. The collected data was processed automatically in the statistical program SPSS Statistics 22.0 (IBM, Amonk, NY, USA). The results show that the past six years the total production of thesis was 368; 2015 was the year with greater production, with 88 thesis, the study area where most were executed was the universities with 128 thesis, most approached Odontological Specialty was Orthodontics with 73 thesis; the type of research most used was observational (66.85%), transversal (76.9%), prospective (86.14%) and descriptive (52.99%); the design of the research most used was observational with 251 thesis; The most used method of data collection was observational with 251 thesis; the statistical analysis used was the nonparametric inference with 181 thesis. The town where more developed the thesis was the department of La Libertad wit h 358 theses; the most studied population were students and surgeon dentists with 71 thesis.
