Los resultados obtenidos evidencian que no existe correlación significativa (p>.05) entre competencia parental y sexismo; mientras que la dimensión resolución de conflictos presenta correlación significativa, directa y de magnitud pequeña (r= .156; p<.05) con sexismo; en tanto, la dimensión resolución de conflictos sostiene correlación significativa, directa y de magnitud pequeña (r= .18; p<.05) con sexismo hostil y la dimensión consistencia disciplinar sostiene correlación significativa, inversa y de magnitud pequeña (r= -.16; p<.05) con sexismo hostil.

The study has a descriptive - correlational design, we worked with a sample equal to that of the population which was 182 adolescents whose age ranges from 14 to 17 years of age, of both sexes, belonging to the third, fourth and fifth grade of the secondary level of a State Educational Institution of Pacasmayo. The instruments used for the evaluation were the Parental Competence scale version for children (ECPP-H) by Bayot and Hernández (2008) and the Detection Scale of Sexism in Adolescents (DSA) by Recio et al. in 2007.
