Resultados: Al determinar la asociación entre maloclusión y autoestima en adolescentes, el 50.6% presentó maloclusión clase I con autoestima baja. Al determinar el tipo de maloclusión el 58% presentó maloclusión clase I. Al determinar la autoestima el 93% presentó autoestima baja. Conclusión: Este estudio demuestra que, en general, la autoestima no varió según la maloclusión de los adolescentes de la muestra estudiada. Casi toda la población presentó un bajo nivel de autoestima indiferentemente del tipo de maloclusión del adolescente

Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out in a sample of 85 adolescents (with Angle class I, II and III malocclusions) from Casa Grande, Peru. A data collection sheet was provided where they were clinically examined to determine Angle's classification and a questionnaire on the psychosocial impact of dental aesthetics. Results: When determining the association between malocclusion and self- esteem in adolescents, 50.6% presented class I malocclusion with low self- esteem. When determining the type of malocclusion, 58% presented class I malocclusion. When determining self-esteem, 93% had low self-esteem. Conclusion: This study shows that, in general, self-esteem did not vary according to the malocclusion of the adolescents in the sample studied.
