description Objetivo: Determinar si existe asociación entre el estrés académico y el reflujo gastroesofágico en estudiantes de medicina humana de la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego periodo 2023. Resultados: No se apreciaron diferencias significativas respecto a las variables edad, sexo, procedencia, obesidad, asma, rendimiento académico inadecuado y consumo de tabaco entre los estudiantes con o sin reflujo gastroesofágico (p>0.05), la frecuencia de reflujo gastroesofágico en estudiantes de medicina humana con estrés académico fue de 45%, la frecuencia de reflujo gastroesofágico en estudiantes de medicina humana sin estrés académico fue de 13%, el estrés académico es factor asociado a reflujo gastroesofágico en estudiantes de medicina humana con una razón de prevalencias de 2.94 el cual fue significativo (p<0.05). Conclusión: Existe asociación entre el estrés académico y el reflujo gastroesofágico en estudiantes de medicina humana de la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego periodo 2023

Material and methods: An analytical, cross-sectional study was carried out in which 288 human medicine students were included, according to selection criteria which were divided according to the presence or not of gastroesophageal reflux, the chi square was calculated and the statistician prevalence ratio. Results: No significant differences were observed regarding the variables age, sex, origin, obesity, asthma, inadequate academic performance and tobacco consumption between students with or without gastroesophageal reflux (p>0.05), the frequency of gastroesophageal reflux in students of human medicine with academic stress was 45%, the frequency of gastroesophageal reflux in human medicine students without academic stress was 13%, academic stress is a factor associated with gastroesophageal reflux in human medicine students with a prevalence ratio of 2.94 which was significant (p<0.05).
