Los pacientes con pancreatitis aguda severa serán los casos, mientras que los de pancreatitis aguda leve serán los controles. Los datos se obtendrán a partir de la revisión de historias clínicas seleccionadas de acuerdo a los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, luego serán plasmadas mediante una ficha de recolección de datos. Para luego ser ingresados a una hoja de datos de Excel y analizados mediante el programa SPSS 29. Resultados: Los resultados mostraron que el 33.3% de los pacientes presentaron pancreatitis aguda severa, siendo mas común en mujeres (82.9%). El índice Triglicérido/glucosa fue significativamente mayor en pacientes con pancreatitis severa (9.30 ± 0.46 vs. 8.57 ± 0.39, p < 0.001), con una razón de odds de 46.97. El análisis multivariado reveló que el tiempo de hospitalización (aOR = 1.624, p < 0.001) y el índice triglicéridos/glucosa (aOR = 257.07, p = 0.007) se asociaron significativamente con la severidad de la pancreatitis, mientras que la glucosa y los triglicéridos individualmente no mostraron efectos significativos. Conclusiones: El Índice Triglicérido/Glucosa es un predictor de severidad en pacientes con diagnóstico de pancreatitis aguda

Material and methods: An analytical, observational, retrospective case-control study was conducted. Patients with severe acute pancreatitis will be the cases, while those with mild acute pancreatitis will be the controls. The data will be obtained from the review of selected medical records according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, then they will be captured through a data collection form. To later be entered into an Excel data sheet and analyzed with the SPSS 29 program. Results: The results showed that 33.3% of the patients presented with severe acute pancreatitis, being more common in women (82.9%). The triglyceride/glucose index was significantly higher in patients with severe pancreatitis (9.30 ± 0.46 vs. 8.57 ± 0.39, p < 0.001), with an odds ratio of 46.97. Multivariable analysis revealed that the length of hospital stay (aOR = 1.624, p < 0.001) and the triglyceride/glucose index (aOR = 257.07, p = 0.007) were significantly associated with the severity of pancreatitis, whereas glucose and triglycerides individually showed no significant effects.
