Resultados: No se apreciaron diferencias significativas entre los grupos de estudio en relación con las variables edad, género y grado de instrucción entre los pacientes con abuso de consumo de alcohol o sin esta patología (p>0.05). La frecuencia de ansiedad social en pacientes con trastorno por abuso de consumo de alcohol fue 36%. La frecuencia de ansiedad social en pacientes sin trastorno por abuso de consumo de alcohol fue 20%. La ansiedad social es factor asociado a trastorno por abuso de consumo de alcohol con un odds ratio de 2.4 el cual resulto significativo (p<0.05). Conclusiones: Existe asociación entre ansiedad social y trastorno por abuso de consumo de alcohol en pacientes del Hospital Belén de Trujillo.

Results: There were no significant differences between the study groups in relation to the variables age, gender and educational level among patients with alcohol abuse or without this pathology (p> 0.05). The frequency of social anxiety in patients with alcohol abuse disorder was 36%. The frequency of social anxiety in patients without alcohol abuse disorder was 20%.
