Levinas (1974) that helped analyze the care of an adult with cancer. In the data collection, in-depth interview was used a guide. The thematic discourse analysis allowed us to disclose and visible nursing care from the perspective of the adult with cancer. In the results the following categories and subcategories was obtained: Care otherness and empirical subcategories: the encounter with the face of the other, care: being for the other (love, kind treatment, inspires confidence, faith and hope, spirituality, patience and respect) and the body as a place of care (therapeutic care, comfort and convenience). The present research on the care of the nurse in the hospital with cancer person intends to contribute to clinical practice, teaching, management and research from the perspective of nursing care in the otherness that the cancer patient needs, and requires nurses to establish a model of care which must be taken into account qualities as a person and as a professional,

Se tomó como base teórica y filosófica los conceptos de cuidado de enfermería y cuidado humano según Jean Watson (1988) y Regina Waldow (2008) y alteridad de Emmanuele Levinas que permitieron analizar el cuidado de la persona adulta con cáncer. En la recolección de los datos, se utilizó la entrevista en profundidad, a través de una guía. El análisis temático de los discursos nos permitió develar /visibilizar el cuidado de enfermería desde la perspectiva de la persona adulta con cáncer. En los resultados se obtuvo la siguiente categoría y subcategorías: Cuidado en la alteridad y las subcategorías empíricas: el encuentro con el rostro del otro, el cuidado ser para el otro (amor, trato amable, inspira confianza, fe y esperanza, espiritualidad, paciencia, respeto) y el cuerpo como espacio del cuidado (cuidado terapéutico, confort y comodidad). El presente trabajo de investigación sobre el cuidar de la enfermera a la persona hospitalizada con cáncer pretende contribuir para la práctica asistencial, docente, gestión e investigación desde la perspectiva del cuidado de la enfermera en la alteridad que necesita el paciente con cáncer, y que exige a los profesionales de enfermería establecer un modelo de cuidado donde se debe tener en cuenta cualidades como persona y como profesional, y que haya coherencia entre el sentir y el pensar, sentir y hacer, el ser y estar, trascendiendo en el tiempo y el espacio.
