Sumario:The study deals with diabetes which is a complex disease, originated in the pancreas, which does not produce enough insulin, or by an excess of glucose, initiating a broad metabolic process. The thesis proposes to describe the socioeconomic factors that influence type 2 diabetes mellitus in older adults of the Buen Pastor health center, El Porvenir – Trujillo, 2021, The objective sought by the research is to determine the influence of social and economic factors, in relation to diabetes mellitus, type 2, in patients, older adults. In the study, the sample population was 40 adult patients; The research was basic, explanatory or causal, whose design was non-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional. The technique for collecting information; The survey was used as a technique and the instrument used was a Questionnaire. Finally, the following conclusion was reached: that socioeconomic factors have a significant influence on diabetes mellitus, type 2, of older adults at the Buen Pastor health center, El Porvenir – Trujillo, 2021. With an intensity of association between both factors, with 0.958, according to the V for Cramér, representing 95.8%.
