Descripción
Sumario:This research was developed in order to evaluated the effect of an essential oil-based cream of Origanum vulgare on skin lesions induced in Mus musculus Balb / c. The experimental animals were divided into 5 groups of 5 specimens each, to which skin lesions were induced The negative group was not treated; The Positive Group was given a base of vitamins A and D3, boric acid, zinc oxide, benzalkonium chloride ; healing cream, while the problem group: I, II and III was applied the cream formulated with an essential oil base of Origanum vulgare, twice a day (8 a.m./8 p.m.), for 8 days. The measurement of the dermal lesions was carried out daily. On the ninth day they were euthanized using sodium pentobarbital 60 m / kg v.ip. Skin samples were obtained that were preserved in 10% formalin to be sent for histopathological analysis. At the end of the experience it was determined that there is a statistically significant difference between the groups, with a level of significance of 5% (p <0.05). The histopathological analysis of the groups determined that it exists in the negative group. The epidermis shows areas affected by the wound in which granulosa and basal layer cells are not distinguished, their continuity indicates the reparative process of epithelialization and in group problem III. The epidermis indicates epithelial continuity and corresponds mainly to the spinous layer. The reparative effect is effective due to the presence of swirling dense collagen and fibroblasts in the horizontal direction to the dermis. It is concluded that the creams based on essential oil of Origanum vulgare have healing effect on skin lesions induced in Mus musculus Balb / c
