Descripción
Sumario:The current research of quantitative, observational, correlational, of control case, retrospective, approach, had as objective determine the socio-environmental factors associated with the incidence of dengue in families of Huanchaco and Laredo districts, 2021. This study had as sample to 100 families (50 cases and 50 controls) chosen through non-probability convenience sampling, belonging to Huanchaco and Laredo districts, to whom a questionnaire was applied, validated by expert judgment with acceptable reliability according to the Kuder-Richardson Coefficient. The data were analyzed according to descriptive and inferential statistics, establishing the Chi-square and Odds Ratio (OR) tests as the analysis factor. The results in terms of social factors: 72% completed high school or higher education, 80% of the total had an adequate level of knowledge about dengue; and 78% of the total had an adequate level of preventive practices. Regarding the main environmental factors, it was obtained that of 66% of the respondents who have gardens near or in their homes, 38% presented dengue. In addition, of the 12% that referred to the presence of flower vases in their homes, 8% acquired dengue. In relation to the risk factors, it was observed that the inadequate level of knowledge (OR 2.67), the inadequate level of preventive practices (OR 2.79), the presence of gardens near their homes (OR 2.48) and the presence of flower vases in their homes (OR 2.19) constitute risk factors associated with the incidence of Dengue.
