description La investigación titulada: El huayno de la provincia de Pachitea: etnografía y análisis musical, tiene como propósito describir las características musicales y contextos sociales el cual se desarrolla el huayno de Pachitea. La investigación de enfoque cualitativo, nivel exploratorio-descriptivo, diseño etnográfico y tipo básico, se realizó en la provincia de Pachitea. Para el acopio de datos se emplearon la técnica de la entrevista y la observación participante, cuyos instrumentos fueron validados por expertos. La muestra son los siguientes intérpretes: arpista, violinista y cantante. Como resultado de este trabajo de investigación, se ha recopilado y transcrito en partituras cinco melodías que fueron interpretadas por Apolinaria Loreña Masgo “Pañaquita engañosa”, cantautora de la provincia de Pachitea. Las melodías compiladas fueron ejecutadas con el arpa, el violín y la voz, la misma que se baila en fiestas patronales, aniversarios y cumpleaños. Las melodías más representativas según los entrevistados son los siguientes: señora vecina, chikua adivino, chunchito de Mayropampa, pañaquita engañosa, Aucar punta, culin luriado, dos pozos y tuco malagüero. La vestimenta de gala actual que utilizan los asistentes a las fiestas son: mujer (pollera, fustanes, chompa, camisa o blusa, manta de algodón) y el varón (pantalón jean, zapatos o zapatillas, polo y casaca). El estudio concluye señalando que el huayno de la provincia de Pachitea está sufriendo transformaciones, producto de la globalización y alienación de los medios de comunicación quienes fomentan música folclórica de otras regiones del país como la de Ancash y dejando de lado las melodías tradicionales del lugar.

The research of qualitative approach, exploratory-descriptive level, ethnographic design and basic type, was carried out in the province of Pachitea. For the collection of data, the technique of interview and participant observation were used, whose instruments were validated by experts. The following performers: harpist, violinist and singer. As a result of this research work, five melodies have been collected and transcribed into scores that were performed by Apolinaria Loreña Masgo "Pañaquita engañosa", singer-songwriter from the province of Pachitea. The compiled melodies were performed with the harp, violin and voice, the same that is danced at patron saint parties, anniversaries and birthdays. The most representative melodies according to the interviewees are the following: neighbor lady, chikua fortune teller, chunchito de Mayropampa, deceptive diaper, Aucar punta, culin luriado, Dos pozos and Tuco malagüero. The current gala dress worn by partygoers are: female (skirt, fustanes, sweater, shirt or blouse, cotton blanket) and male (jean pants, shoes or slippers, polo shirt and jacket).
