The purpose of this research was to determine the influence of the development of linguistic skills in the improvement of the communicative competence of secondary school students of the Primary Secondary School N° 60245 Adán Águila Macedo of the district of San Pablo 2024. Opting for a study of basic type, correlational level and transversal non-experimental design whose sample was conformed by 50 students of the first year of secondary school to whom two questionnaires were applied for the collection of data. The findings show that 48% of the students in the language skills development variable are at a "Deficient" level, which represents an important limitation for strengthening their communicative competence in the educational context analysed; likewise, 40% of the students present a "Deficient" level. Nevertheless, it is determined that there is a moderate positive correlation between the variables with a coefficient of rho=0.659 and a significance of p=0.000 (<0.05).
