| Sumario: | The main objective of this analysis was to determine the relationship between research skills and learning achievements of the inquiry competence in students of the VII cycle in the area of science and technology of the I.E. Liceo Naval, Punchana 2025. Methodologically, it was framed in a type of basic research with a transversal non-experimental design. The research considered a population of 105 students, of which the total population was covered. For data collection, the survey was carried out as a questionnaire technique for the variables in the analyzed area, which was validated by specialists in the field. The results showed a significant relationship between the variables analyzed. The results of the study showed a high significant and positive correlation (rho = 0.746), according to Spearman. According to the result obtained, the significance level is lower than 0.05, so the null hypothesis (H₀) is denied and the alternative hypothesis (H₁) is approved. In this sense, the greater the development of research skills, the greater the learning achievements in the inquiry competency (H₀). These findings support the hypothesis of the study and highlight the importance of developing research skills that contribute to strengthen inquiry competence. In addition, they suggest that educational institutions should prioritize teacher training in strategies for strengthening research skills and strengthening inquiry competence under an inquiry and scientific literacy approach. |
