description El objetivo de este estudio fue conocer las características fenotípicas según maduración gonadal de reproductores de Calophysus macropterus “mota”, cultivada en estanques en el centro de investigaciones “Miguel Castañeda Ruiz”; IIAP- SM, entre los meses de mayo a octubre del 2018. Se evaluaron 11 ejemplares hembras y 19 machos, para registrar biometría estándar, caracteres morfológicos externos, así como madurez sexual e índice gonadosomático. Las hembras presentaron mayor tamaño y peso 47.3 cm y 1920gr respectivamente en comparación con machos de 39.7 cm y 1040gr, existiendo diferencia significativa entre ambos. Solo cuatro características morfométricas externas: ancho del cuerpo, altura aleta adiposa, longitud interorbital y anterorbital, presentaron diferencia significativa (kolmogorov y Mann Whitney P < 0,05), entre ambos sexos. El orificio urogenital de ejemplares hembras de Calophysus macropterus es diferente al orificio urogenital del macho, en la hembra se observa una distancia corta y una ranura entre el ano y la papila genital. La madurez gonadal estuvo comprendida por los estadios II en el mes de mayo, III en junio, IV en julio, V agosto y VI setiembre en hembras y para los machos se registraron los estadios, III en mayo y V en el mes de agosto. Se concluye que es posible diferenciar fenotípicamente ejemplares machos y hembras de Calophysus macropterus a través de la biometría estándar, y caracteres morfométricos externos.

The females had a larger size and weight of 47.3 cm and 1920gr respectively compared to males of 39.7 cm and 1040gr, with a significant difference between both. Only four external morphometric characteristics: body width, adipose fin height, interorbital and anteorbital length, showed a significant difference (kolmogorov and Mann Whitney P <0.05), between both sexes. The urogenital orifice of female Calophysus macropterus specimens is different from the urogenital orifice of the male, in the female there is a short distance and a groove between the anus and the genital papilla. Gonadal maturity was comprised of stages II in May, III in June, IV in July, V August and VI September in females, and stages III in May and V in August were registered for males.
