Descripción
Sumario:This research focused on analyzing the effects of public investment and adequate employment on the incidence of at least one unmet basic need in households in the department of Loreto during the period 2014-2023. Adequate employment is understood as those jobs where 35 or more hours a week are worked and a remuneration at least equal to the minimum living wage (RMV) is granted, including those who work less than 35 hours a week but who do not wish to increase their workload. For this purpose, a quantitative methodology of explanatory level and non-experimental design was applied with longitudinal data, collected in the department of Loreto during each quarter between 2014 and 2023. After applying an econometric linear regression model for time series for the ordinary least squares method, it was determined that the quarterly amount of public investment does not have a significant effect on the incidence of at least one unsatisfied basic need. On the other hand, it was found that a 1% increase in the level of adequate employment of the total economically active population in one of the observed quarters reduces the percentage of households with at least one unsatisfied basic need by approximately 1,065% in the same period.
