Descripción
Sumario:The objective of this study was to quantify the carbon fixation and storage of trees in the main streets, avenues and squares of the city of Iquitos. The research is quantitative-qualitative, diagnostic, descriptive and propositional in nature. The diagnosis of the identified species was made, dasometric evaluation of the species, evaluation of carbon capture, the dependence relationship between diameter and breast height vs carbon dioxide CO2 capture was analyzed. In the squares and parks, 14 different species were evaluated, the predominant species being the oil palm with 124 specimens, for the main avenues, 14 different species were evaluated, the most predominant species is the manila palm with 85 specimens, and the main streets were evaluated with 8 different species. where the most predominant species is manila palm with a total of 33 specimens. For the carbon capture of the squares and parks, a total of 16.9286 Tn/Year was obtained, with the Sargento Lores square with the highest capture with a total of 4.5344 Tn/Year. In the main avenues a total of 2.9922 Tn/Year, with La Marina avenue being the one with the highest capture with a total of 1.0578 Tn/Year, and the main streets with a total of 2.0182 Tn/Year, being San Antonio which obtained a value of 0.7268 Tn/Year. The capture of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the main squares and parks was a total of 62.0716 Tn/year; Being (Parinari amazónica parinari) the tree with the highest carbon capture with 1.5782 Tn/year, this species is found in Plaza 28 de Julio. The main avenues with a total of 10.9712 Tn/year; Being (Magnifira indica mango) the tree with the highest carbon capture with 1.0107 tn/year, this species is found on La Marina avenue; and the main streets with a total of 7.4 Tn/year; being (Elais guineesis oil palm) the palm tree with the highest carbon capture with 0.3409 Tn/year. The species with the most carbon dioxide (CO2) capture is (Parinari amazónica parinari) and this species is only found in Plaza 28 de Julio.
