Descripción
Sumario:The main objective of this research was to explain how innovation labs influence the ability to reading comprehend of English texts among third-grade secondary students in public school in Punchana, 2023. The research was explanatory in nature, with a contemporary, cross-sectional, and multivariate designs. The study population consisted of 390 students, and a stratified probabilistic sample with proportional allocation was drawn, comprising 188 students. Data were collected through a validated and reliable questionnaire and a written text comprehension test. Results revealed that the average score for the innovation labs variable, scaled from 0 to 100, was 77.616 falling within the category of “adequate use”. Similarly, the results for the dimensions were: Infrastructure of innovation labs (76.984), and Integration of the nature of innovation labs (78.055). On the other hand, the reading comprehension score in English was 10.641, classified under the “beginning” category. The dimensions of reading comprehension reported the following averages: Information retrieval (9.924), Inference and interpretation (8.414), and Evaluation of form, content, and context (8.341). In conclusion, there is a moderate but significant influence of innovation labs usage on the reading comprehension of English texts, as evidenced by a correlation index of (r= 0.228, p-value = 0.002) and a standardized β = 0.220 (p-value = 0.002 < α = 0.05).
