description Evaluar el nivel de conocimiento y factores de riesgo asociados a la automedicación con antibióticos en usuarios que asisten a las oficinas farmacéuticas de la avenida Próceres de la Independencia, San Juan de Lurigancho, julio 2022. Materiales y métodos: de enfoque cualitativo y diseño no experimental. Se procesó el método de encuesta transversal utilizando un cuestionario validado y estructurado. Se seleccionó a un total de 215 participantes por conveniencia. Resultados: el estudio mostró que la mayoría con un 33.0% de usuarios presentaron un alto conocimiento sobre la automedicación con antibióticos, el 60.0% presentó un conocimiento aceptable y el 7.0% bajo conocimiento. El principal factor para la automedicación con antibióticos fue la experiencia previa exitosa (47%). El antibiótico más utilizado para la automedicación fue la amoxicilina (45.6%) y la principal la fuente de información sobre los antibióticos fue el personal de farmacia (45.1%). Conclusiones: los resultados de este estudio indican que la automedicación con antibióticos persiste entre la comunidad y el nivel educativo tiene un impacto significativo en este comportamiento. Comprender los factores asociados con el uso inadecuado de antibióticos puede ayudar a identificar vías y oportunidades de intervención.
