La muestra está conformada por 30 enfermeras de áreas de unidades críticas de un hospital público de Huaraz. El cuestionario a utilizar y que permitirá evaluar el conocimiento sobre destete de ventilación mecánica, presenta 16 ítems, repartidos en 04 dimensiones; siendo estas: las bases generales con 07 ítems, la fase de pre destete con 04 ítems, la fase de destete con 03 ítems, y la fase post destete con 02 ítems. Resultados: están presentados mediante tablas y gráficos estadísticos. Conclusiones: El estudio proporciona información precisa sobre el nivel de conocimiento del personal de enfermería sobre el destete de ventilador mecánico en áreas críticas permitiendo brindar una atención al paciente de manera idónea.

The sample consisted of 30 nurses from critical care units at a public hospital in Huaraz. The questionnaire used to assess knowledge about weaning from mechanical ventilation consisted of 16 items, divided into 4 dimensions: the general bases with 7 items, the pre-weaning phase with 4 items, the weaning phase with 3 items, and the post-weaning phase with 2 items. Results: will be presented in tables and statistical graphs.
